Using FinePrint for printing multiple pages on one page

I have been using Lime for some time now. I consider it one of the better music notation programs in its price range. I recently purchased an Epson Stylus Color 1520 Printer that is capable of handling larger
size paper (more than 17 x 11 inches). When I bought it, I hoped that I could print two pages of music on
the large size paper. The best software for that purpose that is readily available is a shareware
program called "FinePrint". My experience with the
FinePrint people was quite extra-ordinary in the
software world nowdays. When I first tried it, it
didn't work properly. Even though I hadn't even
paid the shareware fee at that point, I wrote to complain about it, and pointed them to the LIME URL.
In about one weeks time, they came back with an updated
version that worked very well.

I am extremely pleased with the FinePrint product, and
do not hesitate to recommend it.

LIME WON'T WORK

Can someone please tell me how to get this to work.
unzippped it but nothing happens. Thankx

Re: LIME WON'T WORK

: Can someone please tell me how to get this to work.

Q 1: Did you install the fonts?
Q 2: Is your keyboard turned on before you start Lime.exe?
Q 3: Have you configured the output?

These all have to have been done before anything can happen.

You need to be a little clearer on "nothing happens". Did you try launching
the unzipped Lime.exe?

pc and midi

i work on a mac at school and a pc at home. are there any problems with carrying scores from one platform to the other other than getting them onto properly formatted disks or sending them through e-mail

Re: pc and midi

: i work on a mac at school and a pc at home. are there any problems with carrying scores from one platform to the other other than getting them onto properly formatted disks or sending them through e-mail

Lime is excellent for moving back and forth between platforms because the data structure is the same. There is no conversion required. I deal with users on both and receive files created on both all the time. I can move back and forth without conversion or data loss. (But all in all, I prefer how Lime works on a Macintosh, in particular, the copy rectangle function.)

Lime:A fantastic Notation-program.

This is the greatest thing that happened to me.It´s the most powerfull compositionprogram I have ever seen.
Better than Finale and Sibelius together.Thank you very much. Josef Nanor(Pianist and Composer)

Dear Albert, Here is your answer - Anvil Studio,

You can then buy what they call an "Accessory" to

you: http://www.biznest.com/software/music/sheet.html
Good luck again!

You found it! Lime can do the job well. You can spend a lot more money and buy Cakewalk which will also print midi files. There are others but try Lime first. It's a lot cheaper and does a professional job.

writing charts

I want to write charts like you can find in the Real Book -jazz standards. Basic stuff. Who knows which music programs is the best? I don't need play back and all that stuff, just something that will let me write the charts and transpose if I have to. Thanks

Software for turning Midi files into printed music

I would like to find out where I can download free, software for printing out midi files in notation form. Thank you.

Lime will convert MIDI files into notation. But it isn't free.

time signature

I switch time signature from 3/2 to 4/4 and it still is using 3/2
Any way to resolve this?

Re: time signature

: I switch time signature from 3/2 to 4/4 and it still is using 3/2
: Any way to resolve this?

Changing the key signature will not change the number of beats in a measure. Lime
understands these two value seperately. You need to insert the correct measure size
(4/4), then add the time signature.

Keyboard window

Is there any way to make the keyboard window that you enter notes from larger. The keys are very small and it is hard on your eyes after a while trying to click the correct keys? The program is great, but I just couldn't find any way to make the keyboard larger. I have a 21" monitor and have a lot of room for the keyboard to fill.

Re: Keyboard window

I have found Midi-Ox
(http://www.channel1.com/users/jamieo/midiox.html)
a perfect partner to Lime. In simple terms, MIDI-OX emulates a two octave keyboard. Using the so-called MIDI-Yoke that comes with Midi-Ox, you can build a bridge between Midi-Ox output and Lime input. In this way, you can input music directly from the keyboard.

If you do not want to invest in a real keyboard, this may be a solution.

Notation software with Do-Re-Mi?

Where do I find a notation program that can extract a Do-Re-Mi-type of notation from staff notation and Vice versa?
Also which notation program is capable of setting the verses not only below each line of notation, but also below a block of notation?

I believe Lime will do what you want. It allows standard drum, harmonic, as well as regular note heads. It even allows for user defined noteheads.

Cakewalk 7.0 has a special clef called the percussion clef that allows for precusive/drum notation.

Unfortunatly cakewalk doesn't allow for rolls and flams... that's what the drummers need!

Not a Test

Hi,
MIDISCAN comes with Lime 5.00. When will 5.00 be
available as shareware from the Lime web site? This
would makes things neater for us as far as dealing
with fewer versions of Lime.

Also, running Lime 5.00 messes up my password for
version 4.23. Does anyone (David:-) know how to get
around this?
Thanks, Albert

It is currently in the pre-release section. The release is planned for the next few weeks.

Try trashing the lime.ini file in the windows folder. Re-enter the password.

Hi

Hi,
I think this forum is a great idea!
I work for Dancing Dots and we wrote software to
translate Lime files into braille music. I also use
Lime for personal use; however, I'm not a professional
musician.

Ciao,
Albert
