Avoid Polyhedric

Avoid Polyhedric

As a registered owner of Mellosoftron, I was surprised to see a new version (3.0) available, now through Polyhedric (I guess the original programmer sold the rights). I contacted Polyhedric to get my old registration code to upgrade to 3.0, because I was very sure that my original purchase allowed me to upgrade to future versions. I was told that my version was the last version before Polyhedric purchased the product, that I was incorrect in future updates being available, and that they were "offended" when I questioned why an upgrade path was not available to me, a current owner and customer.

As the e-mail's escalated from their support, tonight I finally received a mail saying that they would reject any future order I placed. As a developer myself, I am absolutely shocked at the conduct displayed -- which of you, if asked by a customer a critical question, would simply slam the door in your customers face?! Instead of taking the high road and simply informing me that I was mistaken, I am treated like an idiot and told they don't want my business.

By all means, support the original author of this software -- he provided me instant turn around with getting the product when I needed it. The new owners, however, I would avoid, because it is extremely obvious to me they could care less about me or any other customer. Those of you who would like an e-mail log of my conversation with Polyhedric can receive it by e-mailing me directly.

Polyhedric, if you're reading this, why in the world do you conduct business this way?
