Monkey's Audio is a fast and easy way to compress digital audio (WAV files). Unlike lossy methods (MP3, MP2, lqt, etc.) that apply psychoacoustics to filter out information, Monkey's Audio only operates losslessly, thus preserving the full audio quality. Lossless compression has several key advantages. For starters, it maintains the full quality of the music, so that reproduction is always perfect! Secondly, it can compress and decompress files much more quickly than lossy methods. This means less CPU consumption during playback, and a whole lot less time archiving your music collection.
