Re: wave to midi?

: Does this program convert wave to midi?
No, and don't bother looking for something that does. The few programs that can do this are very, very limited in how well they work. The concepts behind wav and midi are vastly different and conversion involves, ultimately, the ablity to dechipher extremely complex soundwaves, distilling them to a simple bit of data. What you are asking for, really, is something akin to say a program that will take a movie from the big screen and reduce it to a handful of pictures and a condensed script.
Good luck!

Re: wave to midi?

I have to disagree, since I've had good luck with it. I heard the same thing from a few places, and people told me not to try. I'm a patient dick though, and worked at it.. it doesn't take long to get the hang of it.

I figured it out at the NotationMachine.com site, which is kind of a weird site, but fairly useful.

They've got all the links and downloads right there, and it's well worth it. That's my opinion anyway.

Re: wave to midi?

Try Digital Ear. It is one of the best programs that can do what you are looking for...but any background noise and it is hard as hell to work out..I gave up a long time ago...

transposing music

I have got a whole lot of sheet music with just chord
names and I want to write these songs out on manuscript
preferrably not by hand. Also at school we have started
writing out bass parts, so I wanted to try that too.

We used to have the MOZART program (I don't know what
happened to it though) but I always had trouble with it
for some reason.

Is there someone who can give me some ideas on what I
can do? It would be very much appreciated. :)

voice activated midi

Is there such a thing as a voice activated midi? I do not play a keyboard yet I enjoy writing songs.I would like to be able to write them out in notation using such a program. I know there are programs for other instruments kike the guitar. The voice is an instrument as well.
I'm curious and hopeful

I believe Alistair was referring to using the human voice as an instrument. In such a case, I know of only one instance when this is possible. I recently purchased a Sound Blaster Live! card and inside was a bundle of software including a program that would change the sound of any midi number (instrument) to whatever you would like, including your own voice. Then you could sing a note in recording, use that for instrument number 099 (for instance) and then use 099 to write music. However, I know of no program not bundled with Sound Blaster Live! that will allow this.
