| PCtoS550 v2.1 converts files from the WAV Microsoft format into MIDI System Exclusive files to be dumped via MIDI into the Roland S-550/S-330 Digital Sampler at the time when the conversion is being made or later with your favorite MIDI software. Please note that from version 2.0 PCtoS550 will handle any input sample rate. However NO SAMPLE RATE CONVERSION WILL BE MADE. It is beyond the point of this utility to perform such delicate task as sample rate conversion. This means that unless the source WAV file has a 30.000 Hz sample rate (S-550/S-330), there will be a change in pitch in the resulting converted sample. Also, the time factor will be different: for instance a 1 second, 44100 Hz WAV file will become a 1.43 seconds, 30.000 Hz sample dump after conversion. You can adjust the pitch by using 'Pitch shift' and 'Fine Tune' parameters to try to match the original WAV file. If you wish to make a 1:1 conversion from a file sampled at anything other than 30.000, you need to first perform a sample rate conversion from within a professional sound editing tool such as Sonic Foundry Sound Forge or Steinberg WaveLab. The author cannot be held responsible in any way for any data loss or damage. This software is intended to be used on a 'use it at your own risk' basis. Its functions WILL access your FAT (File Allocation Table) and WILL read/write data from/to your disk(s). It will also overwrite the memory of your Roland S-550/S-330 Digital sampler. |
