Software Description
The PIE compressor is designed by Waves Audio in cooperation with Eddie Kramer. It is a virtual bus compressor that is modeled after a vintage Pye compressor.
Since Wave Audio wanted to recreate Eddie Kramer "Golden Audio Chain", the Pye Compressor was next obvious choice to model. Since Kramer used it extensively at the acclaimed London Olympic Studios, there is a high probability that the PIE compressor can recreate the classic sound effect used on recognizable classic music hits.
The Waves PIE plugin copies the original Pye Compressor, it produces a compressed "analog"-ish sound. As an added bonus it also features a built in ultra fast VU meter that behaves just like the original for careful monitoring of your sound.
