Transferring LP's to CDs

I have a Mac G4 and an extensive LP collection. What do I need to do a reasonable job of copying the LP music to a hard disk and/or CDs ? I do wish to edit out noise from record scratches.

I am correct in assuming a device such as Griffins PowerWave unit and software such as Bias Peak LE 4.1 will be an optimum setup?

Thanks
