Software Description

Power Tab Editor is a tablature authoring tool for Windows.

Use it to make guitar and bass tab (tablature).

It lets you create tabs with most of the symbols usually found in tablature including chord names, chord diagrams, rhythm slashes, bends, slides, hammer-ons/pull-offs, harmonics and even palm muting.

It's a great application for people who want to learn how to play guitar, and indeed seasoned pros who need to transcribe their own music and/or guitar lessons.

If you are looking to convert Power Tab to Guitar Pro there is no longer any need because Guitar Pro now imports Power Tab.

Although PowerTab is not officially designed to run on Windows Vista, there are a lot of people who use it with no problem, however some people have reported that it won't run on Vista for them.

Guitar pro does not do this,
Cakewalk is a great tool for doing this and so is sibelus.

Guitar Pro does this, but only if you wanna pay $50 for a piece of crap software that only has 1 instrument per page... But it does it... As far as that idea in PowerTab... I also think it would be great, as I have some Piano music I wanna arrange for guitar... I guess we will have to wait to see when Brad does this to PowerTab.

You can't because it is currently non-existant. Brad Larsen (author of PowerTab) says that he will be incorporating the best features of the Player into the PowerTab editor. This will be seen most likely in version 2.0. As far as I have been told, the PowerTab player will NOT be coming back as a stand alone product. I hope this helps you out.

power tab is absolute s**t for trying to learn a piece of, i think its great for creating tabs yes but it need is a loop and a tempo control then it could easily stand up against Power tab, is there any program that will allow you to loop certain sections and increase and decrease the tempo?

you can go to http://www.ultimate-guitar.com - then type in the song you want. when the new page loads, at the side where it says bass, chords guitar and stuff, - just look for the one sayin POWER TABS. simple and quick. its really good. i use that website all the time
