can't create or load sessions

I downloaded the thing and wanted to give it a good tweak. The problem is, I can't create new sessions or load existing ones. On clicking the "save" button when stating a new filename, nothing happens. And it simply won't load the demo session whatsoever.

The same thing is happening to me With a P4 ,1.5 ghz. and win ME. Beats me why but if you ever got yours to work let me know how. at this time im sure im state of the art with this processor so if this dont run it , what will?

I have a P3 850MHz 192MB ram running WIN 98. I have no problem with Pro Tools at the moment and I have just begun to really create tracks/midi etc.
I run dididesign 001 with Pro Tools LE and when I first obtained this gear I did have problems opening sessions which were actually pc related not the s/w. Reinstalling it helped or you could download it again (I know this is annoying)
You will need to configure your s/w to your sound card.
Try control Panel-multimedia-set record and playback devices.

I have an Athlon 600 that I'm running ProTools Free on. The only problem I seem to get is the latency, there is a definate delay and I can't get rid of it by using the sample rate or else it won't record. I have been able to get four tracks plus plug-ins. I haven't had it very long so I haven't tried any more than that. The VIA Chipset is the big problem because of the PCI bus stuff. Even though my computer is pretty kickin, I'm going to big time upgrade to an Intel chipset before I actually purchase any software for recording.

By the way,

I am running Athlon tbird 1.4 gig with ASUS A7V266(VIA).
It works extremely well under any circumstances except for Protools.

i would love to try your product for free but have just not been able to get it to load into my computer . the reason for this free download is to promote your products , if you read thru the many comments below a lot of people are having problems but i see no comments from yourselves at all , do you ever read this page ?
as far as i am concerned i have been trying out the CAKEWALK DEMO this runs perfectly has not crashed and seems to fit my needs very well so unless i find a better product then i will probably purchase their product , sorry PRO TOOLS

Cool Edit is a great program for you to try. I have Pro Tools also but Cool Edit is much more user friendly and also uses directx plugins, many of which are free. It runs great on all windows platforms without a lot of hassels. You can download a free trial version at www.syntrillium.com. It is low cost as well and comes with many features you have to pay extra for in Pro Tools. I am a recording engineer and run a professional studio and do mastering as well. Pro tools is much overated in my opinion, most people think it must be good just because it is expensive. I am not impressed with it. Try the free demo of Cool Edit or Cool Edit Pro ( 64 tracks) and you will love it as I do.

I will be using Cool Edit Pro for the first time in a few days. If your review is correct, i should have a great time. I have only ever used ProTools, so i am a bit weary about using this other program. Anyway, i will let you know how it goes.

I've only used Cool Edit Pro, and everyone is going on about Pro Tools but I dont think its all that. cool edit is really really user friendly and really easy to use. Fruity Loops is ok, great sounds but i couldnt get used to it.

Like everyone else said, pro tools is overated. My friend has 2 pc's in his studio, MAC and IBM compatible. He relationship with his pro tools is a love hate thing. I introduced him to cep2 and he hardly ever touches his pro tools anymore.
Me, I use sonicfoundry products but every now and then I will create a project with cep2 and it
sounds awesome, every aspect of it is just great.

I downloaded the program and twice when I tried to do anything like just opening a file, my whole computer system shut down and rebooted.
