When I first tried to load Pro Tools Free, I got the message of 128m minimum ram, so I upgraded to 184m and still get the ram message, a message about DE--something missing and then the file shutsdown back to desktop. What's up ???
What am I doing wrong and how do I correct it?

O.K It took me a few days but I`ve got this thing sussed.It rules!!!!!! Recording is pretty easy on this and I even figured most of it out without having to revert to the bulky reference guide.I`ve been able to mix wav loops with natural instruments like my guitar and Keys.Thankyou Protools.

Delay in sound

Hello all,
I`ve recently downloaded Protools and am currently trying to record sruff on it.I can get sound on it I can even import wavefiles on it but while recording with a mike I experience annoying delay in the sound so that I cant match the drum track wave file that I imported.Does anyone have a solution?

Apparently, ProTools knows about this problem. You can fiddle with the buffer, but to really get rid of it, you have to buy the full version or use different software.

Try a Down Load Manager program with resume ,that way if you lose your Internet connection you can continue where you left off.I use Get Right

Try Installing or Transfering the program to CD that way you can run it from there with out slowing the hard drive down

Nope, If you check out the full specs on digidesigns site, they say you need an absoulute minimum of
128 megs, and most likely 192 megs if you are going to try and link it to another sequencer. But
hell, it's PROTOOLS, ya know? But RAM is so goddam
cheap at the moment, you could probably get some more. I just got 128MB PC100 for $69
(from www.computernyc.com...I went to there place
on Madison Ave, but I think the do web a phone
orders, and they're the only computer place I ever went to that was both really inexpensive, mostly,
and has never screwed me.)

I have my input set and the meter shows that it is recieving the sounds. I also have the track set in record mode. My question is how do I begin recording audio? When I press record nothing happens, when I rt. click record it takes me through the different ways to record.

I'm just looking to record a simple 4 track song with it.

not sure if it's this simple, but you may not have known to push 'record' then 'play'. if you just push record, nothin's gonna happen.
