Software Description

Comprehensive editor for the Alesis QS 6, 7, 8, 6.1, 7.1, 8.1 and QSR synthesizers. Written for Windows 98 & ME, it provides access to all the synthesizers' parameters in a logical and intuitive user interface.

Besides having full access to all the synthesizers' parameters, with QS Patch you can:

  • save all data in a mix to hard disk - all programs, settings and effects data - in one file
  • save all data for a program to hard disc, including effects data
  • load any program file into a mix
  • save effects data to a file and load that into any program or mix
  • All this is done in the synth's edit buffers without the need to save data to your precious user program or mix slots. All you have to do open up your mix or program file and you're ready to do some editing, sequencing or playing.

Of course QS Patch gives you access to all the synthesizers' editing pages and storage slots and you can do all your editing without ever touching the data wheel or cursor button.

Do you, like me, find editing the effects a bit daunting. Difficult to figure out the routing of the sends through the effects chain? I have written special controls which look pretty much like the diagrams in the manual which are in fact editing controls... Just click on a delay button to open up sliders to edit the delay parameters... Want to change the routing to the reverb input? Just click on the terminal and it's done.

can't install, can't contact

trying to install this on an XP machine, it asks for a password during setup and won't do anything else. I tried contacting the author but the mailbox at BTConnect is dead.
