user friendly sequencing
Folks, I have a problem here. While I don't claim to be a genius nor a certified moron, I have problem finding the right musical creation and sequencing software that will make things as simple as they were with "Player pro" once I had my Mac..
Anyone with some advice ?

Quartz Audio Master crashes...
Quartz Audio Master crashes when I try to configure MIDI Devices (from Options menu). My PC runs with Win95 and a SoundBlaster AWE64. Anyone got the same error? Could you help me please?
Importing audio - Quartz Mpeg Layer 3??
Hello:
I'm trying to import an mp3 file to an audio track, but it keeps telling me my file is not compatible with Mpeg Layer 3. I ripped the file using Windows Media Player. I googled Quartz mpeg layer 3 and didn't come up with anything that looked like it would help. Is there a program I can use to convert the file? If you respond, kindly keep the langauage simple since I'm kind of new to this.

missing WMDVL.DLL file for quartz audiomaster freeware
Would anyone that has installed the freeware program called quartz audiomaster and not been able to run the program because of an error that reads " missing WMDVL>DLL file " be so kind as to send me a copy of this file so that I can copy it to the installation program. I have seen it in action and am quite impressed with its capabilities. Looking forward to anyone that can help me and THANK YOU in advance for this request and any tips that could help.

Someone said, look via Google, many downloads available - done...now, where do I put the file?
Working in XP (if that means anything), put it Windows, Driver Files ...still won't start up, doesn't recognize .dll file...

just enter the full term in google and u will get hundreds of hits! i did it the same way, some people offer this dll for download! just copy it into the installation directory and it will work!

can't import midi files
when i go to import a midi file there isn't any there but if i look on windows explorer they are all there? someone help me please!!!

Are you looking in the right directory?
Are the folder options view "hide known extension" checked?
it only reads *.mid extension, not *.midi

If you want to make your own music, use the piano roll window, where you see grids on the window
and piano keys on the left. Change your tool to the pen tool and click on any box. A box is a note that you can adjust in length, etc.
drum parts
How the heck does one get a drum part on QAM? I'm a percussion freak and I can't get to a single percussive instrument!! (=(

Use channel 10 "A10" in any of the midi tracks.
Once done, instruments will have options for
standard, orchesta, jazz percussion.
Use the piano roll window to use drums.
Change the normal to GMX or other type
to see names of percussion instruments on the left side of window
Fullversion regristration problem
Hey Just wondering if any one has come in to this problem.
I needed to reformat my computer So i uninstalled my brought copy of quartz audio master and got the uninstalation key.
When I loaded windows back on and reinstalled my software I put in my serial number but the instalation keys(differnt thing) were not the same put in my uninstalation key on to the my plannet thing and got my unlocking key.
It says unreconised serial number
I need to use this software in my studio and a few other people on the dsp web site have had the same problem. Digtal sound plannet is uncontactable Phoned for about 2 weeks every day no luck emailed about 3 email adresses on their page (sales,webmaster,support)no reply for weeks

drums
too stupid for drums? is there a possibility to get a drum track in the qam freeware. my midi keyboard has drums in number 00, which is not available in qam midi selector....
windows start button
I have a Gateway P4 machine w/ XP home. Whenever I get through with Quartz AudioMaster, nothing shows up when I click the Windows start button. The button depresses, but no flyout menu appears. AHWBA.
Sound Card
Ok i tryed 3 different sound cards - one of them worked fine in windows 98 - it was an avance generic card - but then i put the exact shit on 2k and it only saw the MIDI prtion of the card and no wave portion - same thing in xp - same thing with my integrated sound card (aOpen Mother board) same god damn thing with sound blaster live platnium! works only on 98 with the wave input - MIDI works fine on all cards on all OS's but it will not recognise anything for wave other than in 98! - - Help!! and dont tell me about updating drivers or reinstalling programs i know ,,, did,,, wont work! - anyone with usefull information please let me know what could be causing this and how to fix it

CD burning from quarts

This is a great program but I have not been able to burn more than one track to a cd. I can burn one track but not have them combined. Could someone help me with some ideas? Thanks

this may be a dumb question... but... when i use this program, it only saves my work as a .seq file, which means i can't play it with any other program, like quicktime or windows media player. There's no drop down menu to save it as a different type of file... so how do i change it?
can't get the midi keyboard to play!
I can play sounds via the PC keyboard, but although my midi keyboard makes the lights by the channel go up - there is no sound. Have tried the MIDI Keyboard configure tick box on and off. Feeling stuck and depressed.

you have to go to the options | inputs/ outputs section of the program and set it up to work with your sound card to get it to work - good luck because unless you are on windows 98 this fag ass non supported program will not recognize a card worth a shit - i have tryed 3 different cards on xp and 2k and they work fine with MIDI but no freeking wave recognitiion! good luck!

I'm here looking for the same help. I've been using quartz for a long time. stopped using it on this computer for about a year and now it doesn't recognize any signal. all my other recording programs work fine but quartz is my favorite. wish I could fix it :( boo hoo

ah hah! I finally figured it out. in my sound options I had the recording properties set to "microphone" instead of "line in". I hope I've helped someone out there :)
How can we mix different tracks with different volume?
We are using the Quartz studio and it's great but we have some problems. Have all the tracks to be in Audio01 so that you can record them and mix them? Can we make lower or louder the volume of a determined audio track? For example, if the volume of the guitar is loud in a track we are using, can we make it lower? I think every track can be treated as you want (volume, tone...) and then mix then together. But we just we don't know how.

Right Locator
Middle of the right side of the screen you'll see a readout that says 00-00-05-00 (the lower left of four readouts). Click on it, go to "Change Right Locator" and make it something like 10 minutes instead of five seconds. You can always trim it later.

Move the end locator to the end of the song
Recording only occurs between start and end locators.
by default locators are only 5 seconds apart
Audio Recording Levels
The software it's great but the only trouble I've seen it's about the Audio rec.level. I'd rec an acoustic guitar ( electrified by a Fishman )with good response. But got problem with a microphone recording on the vocal line on the others audio tracks.The signal it's very poor,low.I've switched the level at maximum, passing thru'a multieffect to gain some volume, but nothing seems enough to increase the bloody mic level.I'm very very sorry of this because all the rest works great.Bye

I just started using quartz audiomaster. Everything seems to be fairly straigt forward, except for one thing that I just cant figure out.. I absolutley cannot get it to copy and paste an audio event. This is very simple to do using cakewalk and other software. I just cant seem to get it to work with this.. Any tips?

I just downloaded the software today (quite pleased with it) - and while most of the interface is extremely intuitive, it took me a few minutes to figure this out as well.
So - for others in the same boat who google this question, here's what you do:
First, position the left and right indicators in the "Tracks" window: these are the vertical dashed lines - the left indicator has a blue handle, the right has a red handle. You can drag them with the mouse, or click the left and right mouse buttons in the horizontal bar that contains the handles to position them. Wrap the area you want to position with the indicators.
(Hint: set your grid SNAP in the upper left hand corner of the Tracks window to make this easy).
Second, use the mouse to select the elements you want to copy.
Third, hit CTRL-C. You will see a "Copy" dialog box that you can use to set conditions (this is pretty neat). If you're just doing a straight copy, don't set anything. Just click the "copy" button.
Finally, set the left indicator to starting point of where you want to paste the selected element, and hit CTRL-V. You'll be prompted about the paste.
...I may have missed something (I just started working with this), but that's basically it. Anything I missed should be easy enough to figure out with these basics.

oh - and you do need to select the tracks you want to copy from the copy dialog box, so you do have to specify something there.

Good Program!
This software is quite powerful for a freebie. You just have to recognize the limitations of your computer equipment. For instance, you can expect a lock-up if you are running other programs such as VirusScan or something. Make sure to check the help files. They have more valuable info than you think.
