I have made great recordings using a Celeron.: It takes some getting used to and you DO need a decent processor (read: Celerons need not apply), but it is actually one of the better tools I have used for computer recording. Excellent sound on the exported .wav mix. There's the trick for the newbies to this thing - Export your finished mix as a .wav file, then convert to MP3 using BladeEnc or Lame. Anything else will sound gritty.
