Software Description

RIP Vinyl is a direct to disk recorder that allows you to record from any audio source on your sound card, and produce WAV or MP3 files, which can then be burned onto a CD-R or iPod for your own personal use while away from home. The software automatically detects tracks using parameters you configure, and can record a 78 on a 45 RPM player. In addition, it automatically discards tracks shorter than a threshold.

It includes features to allow you to schedule recordings, and break tracks after a fixed time, to aid transfer of books on tape. The software compresses to disk while recording. Compression is done via Microsoft's Audio Compression Manager and can use any ACM codec that is licensed for encoding. The software includes a peak VU meter. When you install, we automatically enable the Media Player 10 MP3 encoder for use with RIP Vinyl if present. In addition, the program now supports USB turntables and tape decks, allowing you to listen on your PC speakers or headphones while recording from these.

New in v4.3

  • Allows you to record what you are listening to on Vista, even if your sound card doesn't support the What U Hear function.

RIPvinyl

just brilliant

Re: RIPvinyl

vivo en la ciudad de México. ¿ como o donde puedo comprar el software para recuperar música de los LPs o cassettes a C.D. via computadora ?

no uso tarjeta de crédito

RIP Vinyl is great.

There seems to be a few out there who want something for nothing. The evaluation version DOE insert a beep in each track, but this does not keep you from trying it anyway to test it out. I ordered the full version (a whopping $7...big deal)which comes WITHOUT the beeps, and it works great! Very easy to use, and gets the job done. Cough up the $7, and quit complaining about the beeps. It's worth it, and more.

Do you have this problem?

When I use my ripvinyl the volume is so low that I have to have everything turned up to the max is this a problem with the software or do I have a hardware problem - I would appreciate anybody's comments on this

RIP Vinyl

This is not shareware as stated but a demo version - has beeps inserted.

beep

Just spent the better part (about 8 hours)of a rainy day copying various tracks from records to burn onto CDs. The only problem is every track has a a loud, annoying "Beeeep." I'd buy the software if you guaranteed you can get that extraneous noise off those 12 painsteakingly recorded tracks.

Re: beep

Did you ever find out what was causing the beep. I have experienced that same thing.

Re: beep

The beep is there so people can try the software in a meaningfull way, but it gives the incentive for the users to actually pay the developers for writing the program.

Hands in pockets guys, I bet you drank more moneys worth in beer when trying the software than it would have cost to buy.

This is a great product for converting LPs, 78s, and 8tr/cass tapes to a CD-R. The simplicity of the product, yet well working is especially nice to an older music lover. No extra eye candy that doesn't add to the functionality.

RIPvinyl

Best money I ever spent on music. So far I have converted 300+ record albums and over 700 cassette tapes to cd's and only had one glitch, which I later figured out was my fault. Read directions and it will work.

GET A LIFE. It is better than some software that yu can only use for 30 minutes, and $7 isn't really a lot of money anyway.

Re: crap

I would try "Elements of Style" by E White. It's a book on how to construct sentences.

Re: crap

How about maybe a basic Websters dictionary for some vocabulary followed by a 3rd grade level tutoring class. Get a life, this utility is simple and great! You big Jerk!
