Re: Shoutcast VS icecast
: Icecast is the free GPL version of a shoutcast server and avlibel for linux and win98.
It suppose to be better to where you can listen
to the stream via RealPlayer, Winamp, MediaPlayer and maybe QuickTime. I tried running it but it was harder to setup on a RH 7.x server with just shell and trying to figure out how to dump the 40 gigs of music on one directory or bounce signal.
With Shoutcast I can have it running in less than 10 minutes.
I would like to see / get into "embdedded" streams like Java or sort of "no player" required end.
