SampleTank Demo and FreePiano have been unified in the new SampleTank FREE: a new version of SampleTank 1.1, able to play both the FreePiano and the demo-instruments.

SampleTank Free includes 2 full Acoustic Grand Piano instruments (a 7MB compressed and a 14MB non compressed version, the smallest acoustic piano found in SampleTank, sampled from a beautiful Steinway Grand Concert piano); and 16 demo instruments with limited range. More free instruments will be published monthly.

Users of SampleTank FreePiano or SampleTank Demo must download the new SampleTank 1.1 Free to play all the free and demo instruments simultaneously.

SampleTank imports sounds better

SampleTank imports AKAI better than HALIon. I dont' know if you've tried with HALion but it's such an hassle...

Re: SampleTank imports sounds better

Nonsense. I had no problem whatsoever importing S1000 CDRoms in Halion. It's as good as it gets.

cant import sounds?

they probably though they would make more money if you HAD to get their sample sets i mean they had to convert those sounds some how so they have the convertion software. i hear alot of people talk about halion which can import akai and soundfont so sampletank will probably end up forgotten

SampleTank is a blast

SampleTank is a blast. I can go from "Edged" (a mimic of U2's The Edge's multi-tapped delay guitar sound) to a sweet viola section in a couple of seconds. That's one of the brilliant pieces of this program. Unlike a bulky Wizoo LM-4 set which might take 15 seconds to load, SampleTank will load a samplebank in about 2-5 seconds max.

Try the demo. Talk to your wife (or husband) about them letting you buy this software. You won't be sorry.

impressive sounds!!!

Hi. I tried the demo, and it sounds impressive... especially the acoustic drum which is what I need most; acoustic piano is good too. Also, very CPU friendly: tried it while recording 1 stereo track 24/96 with Waves Trueverb, C1 and C1 Gate on and 2 sampletank midi tracks playing: all this with a PII400/128Mb RAM & Terratec EWX24/96: no cracks and pops in recording, CPU max up to 75%... very good.

sampletank sucks

this program sucks big time.you cant import wave or sound fonts.i guess the trick is once you spend your bucks for the program you have no choice but to by their sound disk.

Re: sampletank sucks

Yeah you can't even edit your sounds either. It's a joke. The pianos suck. Synths suck. My advice, buy a used sound module like a Roland JV2080 or something and have a much better instrument that is not tied to a PC.

Re: sampletank sucks

Yeah!
You could as well buy a good sample-cd and use your favourite sampler. It`d be a lot cheaper.

"Sound module" heh..
I`d call it "sample player"

SampleTank rocks!!!!

Got SampleTank today...what can i say, its MUCH better than i expected. its actually quite good. well...its *really* good. nice FX, very nice samples with a lot more character than most romplers on the market. Definetly fills the gap, finally a rompler VST plugin that deserves the name :)
