Software Description

SimulAnalog guitar suite is a set of vst plugin that simulates some of the most common guitar amplifiers and analog processors.
It simulates the following amps and effects:
- Boss DS-1 (Distortion stompbox)
- Boss SD-1 (Super Overdrive stompbox)
- Tube Screamer (Overdrive stompbox)
- Oberheim PS-1 (Phaser stompbox)
- Univox Univibe (Modulations stompbox)
- Fender Twin 1969 (Guitar amplifier)
- Marshall JCM900 Dual Reverb (Guitar amplifier)
This suite is not a commercial product. It is born inside an academic research project about the modelling of electric devices, and then applied to the musical instrument field as an evolution of the techniques currently available in some commercial units. Its most important feature is the extremely high precision of the simulation, which is about indistinguishable from the original sound.
It is a freeware and no profit set of plugin. Born as a test bench for SimulAnalog research, we saw that without any effort it could be distributed to musicians that may find it useful. That's why it is given as is, with no support and with a very rough user interface.
But we can assure that "every component in the audio path of the original instrument has been modelled, except for the secondary effects of some active devices" and that "the response of each original device have been compared with the respective simulated response, obtaining less than -40dB of difference" without any particular commercial interest saying that.

It's very useful software, can you tell me about how to use the software?

An acoustic guitar is one not dependent on an external device to be heard but uses a soundboard which is a wooden piece mounted on the front of the guitar's body.

Hey, first if all gsuit sounds really great. But erverytime i use two of the jcm900 in amp mode B my notebook (centrino 1,5gHz; 1,25Gig Ram) starts to freeze.
When i take a look at the system requirements i´m surprised about it.
Use it with sf2 guitar!!
mosts SF2 guitar files are maked whit effect included. for get a most real sond is necessary edit it whit zero effects. i've maked a sf2 whit my peavy predator. (pluged in line input)
whit the boss and the marshall vst over it...sound its so powerfull.

clear saund mixed with processed after mixdown!!!
I use Sonar3 and VST Adapter, but after JCM900 effect mixdown i listen clear guitar sound with procsessed!!! Whats up. Another VST plugins working well (Amplitube, Warp, etc.) And real time input monitoring sounds much lower than processed. I worked many years with guitar ampsims, but this... tell me where is problem, i tried ewrything (seems like second channel is not processed)

i have the same problem. for now i wil try to explain what i know. guitar sound is mono.so just record the thing you are plaing in cool edit...
you get a clean sound and processed,cut the clean sound and thats that.

vst vs. dx
it's pitty your plugs aren't dx compatible :(
dx support
there's a DX plug out there that will load up VST plugs...it's called dxwrapper, and works quite well. try a google search on it, i can't remember the link.
how to use SIMULANALOG GUITAR SUITE
I cannot understand how to use SIMULANALOG GUITAR SUITE on my PC. Have I to install some other programs with it?

I am using it in fruityloops and save the dll files to my plugins/vst folder in fruityloops. They are then available to me as fx to be applied to a loaded sample, they mostly dirty up the sound of the guitar sample i have but I am not sure that this is what is intended. Does anyone know what sample to load?

It meand that it is basically a VST Plug in for Cubase and other programs that accept this kind of add-ons.

Get a DX wrapper and quit whining, it's FREE!
Guitar Suite
Excellent job of capturing the sounds of Marshall and Twin amps. Small footprint, low CPU load, and the price is great. I've unplugged my J-Station.
The Twin sounds cleaner than I'd expect when cranked. The Marshall is as dirty as you'd want. Can't wait for more amp models.
how about some DX support man?
I wish you could develop a version
that supports DX, as I feel this is where the future is coming to. Also,
I feel that VST is too complicated
for it's own good as a platform.
I also think there are more DX users
in the world. You might get more millage
out of your research.
