12 bit to 16 bit conversion software

I am trying to find a way to take video/audio camcorder output that was recorded in 12 bit audio and convert the audio tracks to 16 bit. When importing in iMovie or Final Cut Express, the sound is choppy since the programs are looking for 16 bit input.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

This is an incredible program!

This program has just saved my life! It was the only shareware app I could find that could open and edit some movie files I was working with in iMovie. Thanks to SndSampler, 24 weeks of hard work are saved! Hurray! One of these days I'll have to remember to register. :-)

Sound Edit 16

Dear Sir/Ms:
I am trying to locate a source for an audio editing software package called Sound Edit 16 for use on my old Macintosh computer. I'm told it's very inexpensive and either made by or sold by a firm called Macromedia.
I've been unable to fine a web or e-mail address, or telephone number for Micromedia.

Re: Sound Edit 16

Sound Edit usually comes with Macromedia's Director Program, but they do sell it seperatly.
Go to the link below and you can purchase it.

increase volume in iMovie2 clips

Which version should I use for my iMacOS9 to increase the volume of iMovie2 clips. I have already printed out the Guide for SndSampler Version 4.1

I begin, and I am handled.

I wanted to put sound in the homepage.

So, I wanted to use your software.

Do your best from this as well.

Recording Cassettes

I just downloaded SndSampler 4.1, and I can find no instructuions as to how to operate it. The signals on the Bar that is displayed when you open Sndsampler mean nothing to me! Where can I get a Users guide for this Program? More specifically, I want to download cassette recordings to my I-Mac so I can play them on my Soundjam. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What do I need to...

Please help!!!
What do I need to turn my mp3 files into macintosh audio recordable files?
I have already the cd recorder, I just need to know what software should I use to record the mp3 files.

Re: What do I need to...

There's a thing called Mpecker that converts MP3 files into AIFF files, if that's what you're asking. I don't have a link, but it should be easy to search for.

recording

hello anybody,

i've been composing music for many years but am just
about to buy a homerecordingding set up which i want
to include a sampler (or something that allows me to
play own recorded sounds on a keyboard + "canned" sounds
on disqettes, or something, that i can slip into my key-
board if i want.

i want to be able to record both analog sounds (guitar,
bass, voices) as well as digital stuff.

i would also like to be able to edit all sounds (through
soundwaves maybe). as you can hear i don't know what's
out there. if anybody knows and could give me some
advice on what to get that would be great.

thanks

stefan

Re: SndSampler is great!

So it is. But I have a coupla questions.

On the frequency spectrum window, what are the units in which the peak frequency amplitude is expressed. The numbers seem large. (I'm not referring to the frequency in Hz).

Also, I know that sometimes the frequency spectrum analyzer doesn't always yield the actual fundamental of a sound. Can the bandstop and/or bandpass filters be used in such a way to get rid of the extraneous frequencies so that fundamental pitch is isolated and identified by SndSampler? Without undue distortion? (Assuming that the desired frequency is actually present to an adequate degree.)

At the bottom of the frequency spectrum window, What is being identified by the"A:" meter? What are the units? And where one sees the 0:(degree symbol) are the units there decibels?

I got White's audio dictionary (which I'm beginning to wonder just how good it is), but I can't seem to get any enlightenment on what is meant by the "rectangular" setting on the filters in SndSampler?

Thanks,

Roy G.
