you can never get rid of the hum in the background, this is solved with a soundproof room, or if the mic is placed straight into the computer without being amped up, the recording will be quiet after normalizing it. It also depends on what software you are using to record.
and you can also stop a bit of humming by using a popmask and a muffler.
