Yup, I had the same problem with Cakewalk
about a montha go.
Your sound card is functioning properly,
it probally doesn't support full Duplex-
Simultaneous Record/Play
I would recomend buying a new soundcard.
You can get a basic full duplex sound card
for about $30. THis will clear up your problem.
To test for Full Duplex capability - Open up a program
that play MP3s or Wavs. THen open up sound recoder.
Play a file and then swith to sound recorder and try
to record it, If you get an error message than your
sound card isn't full-Duplex
