Software Description

WIDI Recognition System is a polyphonic Audio to MIDI converter with extended options. The program converts CD tracks, MP3 and Wave files and automatically produces polyphonic MIDI files in several seconds. In addition, WIDI Recognition System is capable of converting music on the fly, as you sing or play a musical instrument. WIDI's innovative recognition algorithms guarantee the best conversion quality ever available.

WIDI is designed for retrieving music notation from MP3 files, creating ringtones for cell phones, practicing or teaching music, and more.

WIDI Recognition System Standard Edition does not contain TrueTone Editor. TrueTone Editor is the tool in the WIDI Recognition System Professional Edition that allows users to correct the results of automatic recognition with a visual comparison of spectrogram peaks to the notes. WIDI 3.2 Standard allows transposing MIDI files and replacing the musical instrument you are using with another one.

WIDI 3.2 supports Recognition Presets for different types of music, predefined or created by user. WIDI is now able to work with stereo-recordings - to display them and also recognize channels individually and in various combinations.

New Recognition Wizard will help you to get your first results just a few moments after the initial start-up, and familiarizes you with the program at the same time.

Whether you are an amateur or a professional, WIDI Recognition System will help you a great deal.

file conversion/midi to wav

Will WIDI Recognition 2.7 convert midi files to wav files? Would like to take music created for practice and burn on a CD

Re: file conversion/midi to wav

I haven't used WIDI, but I have converted many MIDI files to WAV format. Typically I will play the midi file with my MIDI editing software (Cakewalk) and record it by simultaneously running my WAV editing software (Soundforge XP) both came free with my sound card. The results are as good as the sound card is capable.

Re: file conversion/midi to wav

I don't know about WIDI but I have tried several Midi to wav converters and found most of them woefully lacking. The best I have used by far is called Awave Studio from FMJSoft.com. However it is $90 but you can download a thirty day trial.

midi software

What software is available to download midi music in a printable playable score form?

No virus & registration problems

There are no registration problems with WIDI, and we always answer to the letters, except if they are not lost somewhere (as in the case of Steven Ono). Thank you.

No virus according to Norton A/V 2000

Just did a scan and it came up clean. Always use anti-virus software when you download however. Best to be safe.

Cheers
Geoff

WIDI Reg Problems

Alert: I've been having problems with the WIDI folks returning my E-Mails. The Registration Name and Code produce an "Illegal Values" response and the program does not register. It's been two weeks now. The RegNow debit cleared and no response.
Anybody else have problems?

Beginner's question

I have a .svq file on a disk from my Roland x-p 60. Do I have
to change it into a .wav file to get this program to notate the
music? Thanks for any help.

WIDI

Tried WIDI with two additional pieces of software.I used audio
grabber to pull a song off the CD and made a wav. file then used WIDI
to convert it to a midi file in SmartScore. Then tried to both listen
and convert it to a scored piece of music. NO GO. WIDI took everything
and mousched it together. No seperation. Alot of good ideas. The
frequency seperation needs refining.

Worked for me...

Give it another go.

Virus? Doubtful.

Not so sure about the virus thing, huub. Norton Anti-Virus says it's
clean, and believe it or not, the program works, though not particularly
well in my opinion. I took WAV input from a CD and had this program
convert it, and what I got was, well, more or less the song, but
somewhat choppy as if to suggest that a lot of the notes went by too
quickly for the program to register and accurately translate them.
Oddly, the MIDI output generally conforms to the song, but the program
seems to have problems interpreting irregular rhythms and intricate
chords and runs. But it does translate WAV input into MIDI output,
if somewhat "simply."

Highly doubtful

I doubt any but the most dedicated/vengeful hackers would go through the effort of a homepage like the one in the link, just for the sake of putting false trust in a disguised virus. As for functionality, well, you can't expect much complexity for just 67k.

I must agree with the 2 of you. Only a dumb mutt, no, a real stupid idiot with too much time to spare would actually put a virus in such a program.

virus???

careful!!! 65mb(zipped) for an incredibly complicated(impossible?)program?? might be a virus people!
