Software Description

WaveShow Sound Explorer combines the functions of a Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Mixer, Wave file Player/Recorder, CD Player, and a MIDI Keyboard; all in a single program. Use the Mixer to select a sound source, adjust the volume, and then click [Play] or [Record]. The Oscilloscope traces the waveform of the sound while the Spectrum Analyzer plots the harmonic frequencies of that sound, aligned with the keys of the MIDI Keyboard so that you can see the loudness of each note as it is played. WaveShow Sound Explorer also plays and records WAV files from the built-in CD player and mixer (for MIDI, line in, microphone )

software for analysing music

I am a rearcher in music and i would like to know if there is any software that can analyse music recorded on audio tape.
Thank you

Re: software for analysing music

WaveShow can analyze music from audio tapes -- just connect your tape output or stereo line-out to the line-in jack on your sound card, select Line in WaveShow's Record mixer, and select Mixer as the Wave Source.

If you record a Wave file, you can play it repeatedly and analyze the finest details.
