Software Description

Play wav sounds from midi instead of your built in soundcard synth sounds.

Features-
- 128 varieties of very high quality instrumental sounds conforming to GM (General MIDI)
-10 varieties of drum set each with several rhythmical sounds
- Able to play at 44kHz sample rate, 16 bits dynamic range with stereo sound with up to 32 concurrent sounds.
- Automatically adjust to best playing conditions and adjust maximum number of concurrent tones depending on computer's performance.
- Support software reverb (echoing) and compressor (sound leveling).
- Able to play to other MIDI output besides WinGroove using included High quality MIDI
- Able to play WAVE file using WinGroove's WAVE device driver by installing it as a device driver.
- Able to convert from MIDI file to WAVE file.

I had(have) a problem with wingroove activating when other players were running.

I read on a web site that wingroove can support the midi music
in windows based games. I downloaded the program and
installed in on my computer(P200 mmx 24mb ram, BS-16) as
the primary midi device. The midis worked fine, and did not
interfere with the waves, but when I tried a game with
midi music, my computer always crashed! Am I doing somthing
wrong?, or is it BS that wingroove can support games?

when you designated the wingroove driver as the primary midi device and you played a game, the game does not recognize the wingroove driver and tried to use the regular synthesizer driver that is no longer in use and it caused a fault and crashed the computer. Try to not use the Wingroove driver as your main device and use the driver only with the Wingroove program. Good luck!

You have to set it so that Wingroov will work as a driver
after that it should work for your windows games fine!!

I registered and the shareware version that I had expire ... kept telling me that I had to register
...
deleted EVERY thing I could find in regards to wingroove's installation ... including registries ... and drivers ... and the same thing ... somehow the install program leaves an incripted flag somewhere ... and the wingroove driver seeks it out to get your origonal installation date ..
also ... any reinstallation you try to do ... ASLO ... won't let you re-register ... I think the author should have thought more about its funtionality rather than getting his 20 bucks ...

If it asks if you have written down your username and password and paper just answere yes, you can spell yes right?! And most shareware programs that stop working after __ days do that. One program is Paint Shop Pro 4.12-4.14. If you really want to use that program again that reformat your hard drive and reinstall windows. Or just cut and paste the userid and password from the email you should have received to the registration program and everything should be fine. I'm probably going to talk for a very long time so I'm going to stop now. Blah Blah Blah.
