Software Description
Play wav sounds from midi instead of your built in soundcard synth sounds.
Features-
- 128 varieties of very high quality instrumental sounds conforming to GM (General MIDI)
-10 varieties of drum set each with several rhythmical sounds
- Able to play at 44kHz sample rate, 16 bits dynamic range with stereo sound with up to 32 concurrent sounds.
- Automatically adjust to best playing conditions and adjust maximum number of concurrent tones depending on computer's performance.
- Support software reverb (echoing) and compressor (sound leveling).
- Able to play to other MIDI output besides WinGroove using included High quality MIDI
- Able to play WAVE file using WinGroove's WAVE device driver by installing it as a device driver.
- Able to convert from MIDI file to WAVE file.

Comment on WinGroove
If you've got a second (or first) computer with a
crappy sound card (sb16 etc) then Wingroove will bring
it to life.
The programme installs faultlessly, and it has help
screens. There is even reverb to give a plusher sound,
and compression to even out the peaks. It also has
uninstall instructions should you need them.
It runs fine on my DX100 with its toy-sounding sb16 and
tiny cheap speakers.
If you're fed up with your sound card, then get this ..
it can only do you good!

I did alot of Programming with Computers when I was Younger, We Programmed in RAW HEX Code then, Today everything
is being written in a Language then Compiled. Too Bad WINGROOVE wasn't written with "TIGHTER" CODE to speed up
the processing so the Computer doesn't CHOKE every now and then. Other than that, it works fine, But sure hate
the OVERHEAD.

Well when I was your age we didn't have sound cards then so my friends and I had to insert a MIDI lead into my youngest brother (wherever it would fit and making sure it wasn't in his mouth) and he would render the signal in real time. Worked okay but whatever song we played they all seemed to sound like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" :)

Wingroove is definitely my favorite MIDI device.
To make it perfect and keep the competion at bay, the reverb
should be adjustable. Chorus & echo features would be
super.
Otherwise the best sounding system around.

I agree. Could be better. I have a Pentium with a sound blaster pro soundcard
Wingroove is better than Cybersynth, the synthesizer that came with it.
I like wingroove.
