Software Description

With this package, you can use abc notation to create MIDI files using just a text editor or create notation from your own playing by recording MIDI and translating it. A lot of traditional music is available on the web in abc format. Other free packages exist to typeset abc as stave music.

See http://diana.ecs.soton.ac.uk/~jra/abcMIDI/ for more information about the package and http://www.gre.ac.uk/~c.walshaw/abc/ for more information about abc.
