the file format is GnuZip'd Tar, this is a general format for compressing files under Unix type systems, from my experience WinZip's new versions DO handle quite well GnuZip'd Tar'd files.
GnuZIP is a compression, and TAR is not a compression, it's a packing form. if u don't already know this u proboably do not need to uncompress this cuz it's used mostly for Unix programs. u may
need to gunzip and untar data files some times, there are untar and gnu-un-zip for MSDOS, email me to get URLs.
btw: there are many CDextractors under MSDOS/LoSeOS95, this one is for Linux
