Software Description

kJams is a karaoke software jukebox for Mac OS X and Windows. It's just like iTunes, except there's also karaoke lyrics on the screen (or on the TV) that follow along with the song, showing you what to sing next. Kindof like "follow the bouncing ball". For a self contained (video iPod ready) example of what karaoke is like, just click here (3MB Movie). If you really want to be professional, it can also manage a list of singers and keep track of who is up next! Typically you buy special CDG discs to use for karaoke, which are just like regular CD's except they have graphics in them too, showing you karaoke song lyrics. You put the CDG into your computer and play it, or you can "rip" the songs (ie: import them from the CDG onto the computers's hard drive), then you can play them whenever you want even without the CDG. Supports burning* of mix discs!

Need proper softwear

Hello, I have been a DJ and Karaoke host for going on 22 years, I was very old fashion with my OS. as I only became a computer DJ 2 years ago. I use a Macbook Pro and I use scratch live to dj with and now I need a software I can use to upload my almost 2000 cd+g karaoke music onto. I need the software to be able to change pitch, keep lists, rotation, all the things I do by hand currently. Will this software do everything I need? I am asking for help before I download anything.
Thanks
old time DJ/KJ

kJams is exactly what you need....

kjams will do all those things and more!

CD+G Ripping

I am currently using a dual disk karaoke player
but want to play my music from my computer.
I have a G4 Powerbook that I bought new in about
2004. My computer will not read cd+g disks. It will only play the music through iTunes. No graphics will show. How do I get my music from the cd to an external hard drive that will play the music. Is this possible? If so, I would like to possibly purchase
your software. Kjams pro. Please advise.

Please email me directly dave@kjams.com, or go to my forums http://kjams.com/forum/

iTunes does not have karaoke, what they call "karaoke" is actually "instrumentals", it has no graphics. do not buy from them. go to the web site and see the FAQ, see 1st topic.

you will need your own CD reader that reads CDs. they're cheap. see FAQ 2nd topic

Questions about importable files and updates

(Originally posted 20:45:35 3/11/06)

Hi Dave,

First of all by spending the 110 for Pro, will I get the updates free or will I have to pay more? Second my Uncle and myself are partners in a karaoke company and I have a mac Powerbook g4 laptop. My uncle is running his on a PC desktop and external drives. I believe he is using winzip files and they get unzipped to use and then zipped back up. I want to import these files onto a external and then use them on my mac. Can your program accomplish this? Also, when you import, do you have to import into both itunes first and then into ktunes? Also, on the demo I noticed that when you pressed buttons they would move around and do wierd things. Does this happen on the registered version? If you could answer this as soon as possible, so I can know if your program will work for me.

Burner

Can't wait for the completion of the program to include being able to burn our own CD+G's. Any idea when it will be available?

Thanks,
Linda

Re: Burner

I have all I need now to do burning. It could be 6 months. Sooner if all goes well, later if not.
