Software Description
The mac-midi-adapters archive contains two different versions of a self powered adapter that should be usable with any Macintosh.
The basic unit has two outs and one in, with a single status lamp that shows if the port is powered (on macs with a powermanager such as the powermacs, etc, this is very useful). This unit is the one I use when 'on the road'.
The deluxe unit has a THRU switch to it can be used without tying up a port on the machine, and TX and RX lights, of much help when trouble-shooting MIDI problems. It is more oriented towards desktop use, but of course they all work on any mac with MINI-DIN-8 serial ports.

I have a g4 tower I will like to install a sound card can anybody recomend one that is reasonable priced

Check http: www.digibid.com they have homestudio kits from Emagic AW8 going for less than $ 200.00 . (That is the minimum I will work with in a project studio). Digidesign makes good stuff (If I had to do it over again and I will I would look at breakout boxes for the card ). Learning can get expensive.

Looking to get into midi on my macintosh computer. Any information would be good (ie. soundcards, mac editing programs, etc)

I've got an old Yamaha V50 Sequencer and an 8500 as well as a G4 Mac. Can anybody tell me if those machines are compatible, what cables do i need to connect, what drivers. Is there a site with more information?

Hello everyone! I got a yamaha v50 but i dont know how to operate the whole thing because I HAVE NO V50 MANUAL... Can somebody help me to get a copy. thanks.
