Software Description

This version of mp123 is able to play Layer I, II and III MPEG-1.0 MPEG-2.0 and IIS MPEG-2.5 audio streams and supports wildcards as file-argument and http-url's if you want to stream audio to the player from the web.

hey,
Visit http://www.jamsoft.com/tmpgenc/. This site lets you download a program that allow you to convert avi to mpeg (Download the english version).
Once you've opened it there will a display on the bottom left that says "Video source." Browse for the file that you want to convert. Below that is an option that says "output file." That's where you name the new mpeg file that will be created. If you press browse on that option it will allow you to put it in a specific folder (you will type the new name in the file name space provided). After you've done both of those look at the option labeled "output stream type" chose "System [Video+Audio]." After that's done press the buttom on the top right that says "Encode." Then presto! a new mpeg file. Love it up.
You can also merge mpeg files with this program. Go to file-then MPEG tools-once that window opens go to cut/join- click on the "add" to add what files you want to merge- on the field labled output press browse then type the name of the new file you are about to create that will contain all the smaller files.- When that's done press "start." This only works, however, with files that are of the same type. Like if you have several files that are sourced from the same video. The size must be the same. If you're not sure if a file fits press the button "correct" on the cut/join tool.
