There isn't any way to reliably remove vocals but
the best software I have seen is <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/cgi/htdig/htsearch.cgi?method=and&format=builtin-long&config=htdig&restrict=%2Fsmm%2Fprograms%2F&exclude=&words=vocal+remover">Vocal Remover</a>.

Hello,

I recently bought the HIP-HOP expansion board for the XP-60. I was
wondering how can I edit the phrase loops to match the tempo(s) I select
when I create a sequence or song. I've tried setting the patches/loops to
sync to the sequencer tempo etc, but that has no affect. I also do not
understand exactly what to do with the course and fine tune settings
mentioned in the instructions that come with the board but, on loops that
have just one tone (drums only) it seems to work, but on loops that have
multiple tones as part of the patch it has no effect.

What can I do....? I'm trying (for example) to get a patch that is at 96
BPM (C4) to play at 90 BPM.

I have recently installed the cubasis programme and everything is OK except that i can't get SINGLE notes on the score.(All the notes come out as doubles------ie. a blob on each side of the stem) I seem to have tried most things, including 'DELETE DOUBLE', which has no effect.
PS. Am serious about the offer of £20!

But--what i didn't mention was that i have in fact,(and for some totally unaccountable reason!) managed TO GET single notes on a two occasions out of several hundred scores. So it must be (is) possible.Theidea of deleting single notes on a 10 minute piano part would probably be the first step towards insanity.If i get the solution i want i'll pass it on to YOU. I want to record wav to CD for playback on CD player but they are 22 khz and need to be 44 khz... can i do this in acid wav or sound recorder and if not is there a PC program that will do this?

Hello Corinne,

Yes - you need to re-sample to a 16 bit 44.1 Khz .wav
file to burn it to CD.

The best program for this which you can download for

Why would you want to record directly to MP3? Most
computers wouldn't have enough power to encode in
real-time with good results. It's also better to
record using a non-compressed format like WAV so you
then have options on what you do with it once it's
recorded.

I can think of one good reason -- it saves a _lot_ of time.

Cubase / SBLive Sync

When I try to record audio in sync with the click track, it's fine for the first track or so but after a few tracks latency creeps in. Could anyone help me out. I'd be eternally grateful as I'm just banging my head against my monitor here!!

I have exactly the same problem and the only thing I can think of is to double click on the audio track an then delete the slight gap befor the take every time. It is labourious sometimes but it works!

If your look at the asio soundrivers in cubase you can set the buffersize. Changing to a large buffersize worked for me. Also chehk that full duplex is on.

Ok! Now i REALLY need help! I log on today and my cpu had lost my MAIN folder holding most my progs,but i found it- in a comepletly strange spot. It changed my icons on my desktop and it has to search for a while to bring them up.I still have NO sound for FRUITY LOOPS and my computer is behaving extremely erraticly! Now this window popped up when i tried to run Fruity Loops saying that The prog was runnin all f*ked up due to a conflict between a 32 bit driver. Now, correct me if Im wrong, but is DirectX 32 bits? If thats the case, HOW can I run Fruity Loops!?! My other progs still work with sound,so what is goin on? I posted anther message about this yesterday, so if u think u can help check out that message too w/this subjEct: FRUITY TRAX=AWSOME but--- I KNOW ITS SOMETHING EXPENSIVE NOW, BUT i DON'T HAVE TO GO BUY A WHOLE NEW CPU, Do I?. tHANX AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! ----a completely frustrated musican

buy a small 2 gig one to save all your wave files to. u see wave files are dim and delete important files
therefore should be stored on a different harddrive to windows and programs.

I DO hope you're deliberately joking. if you really learned that shit in school, ask for your money back.

it sounds to me like you've got a virus. more specifically, it sounds like somebody stuck you with BO2K. have you pissed anyone off lately?

seriously though, don't format your drive. go get yourself a good anti-virus soft and run it. if it doesn't come up with anything, try reinstalling the music prog you're working with.

I have been in to computers for ages and I know people can fuck with the bios.
but in this case I had the same problem. major bits of programs going missing.

I baught a new hard drive and compleatly formated and rinstalled every thing.
and I have had no truble since.

hey. now that i read this, sounds like you may have some memory that has gone bad. take it to a shop and have them test your memory for you. shouldn't cost you too much, if anything. bad memory can lead to blue screens of death. if that doesn't work, see above.
