You will receive a serial number after registering the Shareware version of Cool Edit 2000 for $69.00.

You can register on the Syntrillium Software Corporation web site.

Yamaha MIDI Files/Karoke

I have a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-107 and would like to record MIDI files for its use. Does anyone know where to find good software?

The Clavinova also allows you to do Karoke and the words scroll down the screen. Anyone know how to create this file? Looking at a MIDI file that has this feature, it is one file in an XG format. I'm not literate on the terms yet since it is all new to me.

Thanks

Does anyone know how to link a Roland vs880 to a Alesis LX20 as so to let the seperate units shake hands. Any info appreciated.

Re: WHAT INTERFACE IS NEEDED!?!?!Roland 880 to Alesis lx20

Answer: Hi Dave, Have you tried to place your topic on the VS-recorders dedicated website? A lot of VS recorder users are out there, willing to provide you with kind help. I found a lot of answers there.
< http://www.vsplanet.com > I don't know your other tool that's why I provide you with a link. Hope it's useful. Best regards from Belgium.I play bass and love drummers.

Re: WHAT INTERFACE IS NEEDED!?!?!Roland 880 to Alesis lx20

I'm more familiar with the VS-880 than the ADAT but I believe you can make a digital transfer of music via the coaxial in/out of both units. If the Adat doesn't have a coaxial (and only has an optical) than you would need an optical/coaxial converter. If you only need them to sync, then you should be able to accomplish that via midi cables to the midi in/out of the units making one the master. Hope this is of some help to you

can u convert MP3 to RA and if u can tell me

Re: can u convert MP3 to RA and if u can tell me

Yes, you can. Use StreamBox Ripper to convert the MP3 to WAV. Then use RealProducer to create the RA file. It's easy to do, but just follow your nose and you'll be fine.

Cheers
Geoff

Cool Edit Pro 1.2 - noise

I'm using cool edit pro 1.2 and have trouble with clicks on playback. I've messed with buffer sizes and it did not help. My soundcard is one hardwired to motherboard and I'm guessing is not a very good one. Is the soundcard the problem or is it to do with speed of hard drive. It is a new Gateway PC and I would think the hard drive (access time) would be fast enough. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also the clicks are in a different place every time you play back.

korg modules

Can I get a trinity or Titon module hooked up to a Korg X5. If yes where can I get either of these modules and for how much.

Re: korg modules

The X5 keyboard can connect with a Trinity module via midi cables to the in/out of both units. The Trinity module usually sells at about $1000 at most of the major music stores. I haven't seen a module for the Triton yet probably because it's a relatively new keyboard. Hope this helped some ?

Cool Edit or Sound Forge or ?

I would like to start to mix CD audio tracks on my PC but I do not know what is the most appropriate software to use. I have heard that Sound Forge is the way to go. I have also heard Cool Edit is the way to go. Does anyone have an idea what is the most appropriate software to mix CD tracks with? Is Cool Edit Pro overkill? Is Cool Edit 2000 more appropriate? Are there problems with any of these products? Any assistance is appreciated.

Re: Cool Edit or Sound Forge or ?

I dont know anything about cool edit or soundforge, but I do know Steinbergs Wave Lab 3.0

You should give that one a try. It does everything. It rips cds, burns cds, converts wavs to mp3s and its a great audio editor. Check it out. You can download it for free at the following link. http://albansaint08.virtualave.net/main.htm. Go to the downloads section and scrool down until you see Steinbergs Wave Lab 3.0. Click on the disk Icon to download. You must have WinRAR to process the files when you finish download. WinRAR is the exact same thing as WinZip. You can download it from the same link I gave you in the downloads section.

Add tabla and sitar to your compositions!

Hi,

We are proud to inform you we have just released SwarShala version 2.0, an Indian music software which covers both the melodic and the rhythmic aspect of this great art. Currently supported instruments include sitar, sarod, guitar, tanpura, tabla, pakhawaj, dholak and bells.

The software can produce output files in wave (CD quality) or midi (GM or DLS) format. Here is a glimpse of the possibilities in a condensed format: http://www.swarsystems.com/Downloads/Malkauns.au

Currently, SwarShala runs on Windows 95/98/2000/NT, but we also have a wave and midi loops CD (TaalTrax) which can be used on any platform.

Find out about these products and how they can add an ethnic touch to your compositions at http://www.swarsystems.com

Thanks for your attention.
