Some App's burn MP3's
Hi,
First off, some app's will burn an audio track directly from an MP3 (which doesn't mean it burns an MP3 onto the CD, it will just convert it to a wave on the fly), check your software and see.
If not then you will need a small program to convert the MP3 to WAV. I included a link at the bottom of the message to the relevent file area on this board. Just choose your computer platform and i'm sure you can work out the rest for yourself!

Soy un estudiante de ingenieria en sonido y estoy buscando informacion acerca de la compatibilidad entre DIRECTOR y algun tipo de plug in. La idea es hacer un cd-rom didactico de procesamiento de señales .Este , en su parte practica constaria de la posibilidad de manejar los plug-ins aplicados a señales previamente grabadas .Como puedo hacer esto con DIRECTOR ,y de no ser asi, me pueden dar alguna sugerencia ?

I think you can use DirectX plugins in Director the best thing is to check the Macromedia site.

The whole process of creating a cd
I have been fooling around trying to make my own cd. I have Napstered the songs, and sent them to storage where I can access them from home. You see, the problem at work, is that the CD Rom is an external drive (Dell Latitude) and I cannot get the PC to recognize the drive, says it's empty, insert disk.
What do I have to do? Download some software, I hear all about converting the M3U files to MP3 or WAV files in order to transfer to disk. But I really don't understand. I tried Nero to burn the files onto the disk, but it still does not recognize the disk in the drive. PLEASE HELP ME, GUIDE ME STEP BY STEP AND I'LL BE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL!

I'm not really qualified to answer this one as I use a Macintosh and it's a bit different. I'll explain what I do incase it helps in any way. I use a Yamaha 4416 CDRW on a SCSI card connected to the Mac. I use Adaptec Jam audio CD burning software which has the yamaha listed in it's compatible drive list, important. The software will allow you to drag the files whether .WAV's .AIF's or .MP3's into a window and you press proceed and it burns it as a playable audio CD. Not all packages allow burning straight from an MP3 though, you'll have to check the package you are using to see if it can otherwise you may have to convert them to .WAV's which is easy.
If I put a unburnt CD into the drive before booting the software then the drive will not recognise it's there, it's a point worth noting. If the computer knows that there is no CD in the drive then at least it's probably recognising the drive is there. I suspect you need to check that the software that you are using to burn CD's knows what a 'Dell Latitude' is. Also, don't put the CD for burning in the drive until it asks for it, leave the draw open with the CD ready.
In in the interest of the company that makes the software for burning to be compatible with as many drives as possible so you may find there is an update to the burning program your using that may include the Dell drive, it's worth a check on the Dell site in the support/download area for free updates. That's all I can think of at this late hour, yawn...!

There are millions of them
There are probably millions of them world wide and it wouldn't be sensible to recommend one that is more than likely not even remotely close to where you live or even in the same country! The best thing to do is look in a Music magazine relative to the country you live in and check the ads in the back. What sort of thing do you want to record?

I live in India.. however we have translation requirements that we want to be done in Ireland/ UK or some European nations as finding vioce - over artist in European Language is a problem. I was not able to locate a reliable source on web...

HELP WITH COOL EDIT PRO!!!

first of all; after deciding wht u've done is ok , u should select to mixdown your work into a single stereo track and then u have the choice to export it as a wave file.

this has nothing to do with computer software..i'm only here because of a lack of resources. i'm a beginning dj..and i'm interested in methods which have been tried and told to matching the BPMs of my records. i saw a poster once with a method..but i didn't get a chance to check it out. can anyone help me? if so..please email me..i hardly get a chance to get on the computer..so i'll only recieve email. thank you.

I am looking for a (free) tool/software to transform my MP3-files into WAV-files ... BUT ... !!!
I am looking for software, where the MPEG-compression technique is being REVERSED. The same Logarithmics is being used to fill in the gaps again and restore the file to its former CD-quality. There is a MP3-player that does that for you while you listen to MP3-trax on your PC. But it doesn't have a 'save'-function with it. So you cannot hold on to the improved quality of your MP3-files.
Does anybody know of its existance and if so, where can I get it (for free)?

Why do you need to? Either synchronise them (ideal), or export rbs file as wav and import into cubase (not ideal). You don't need to open a rebirth song in cubase, as they play together.

The files must be .cda format to be heard on home or car stereo.

If you want to convert .ra to .wav there's a small proggie here - http://www.southcom.com.au/~gwalker/download/ra2wav.htm and there are plenty of .wav to whatever converters available. As for .rmj to other formats there's a linux proggie but I haven't found a windnose 9x one yet.
