Re: playing burned psx double disc games

: Anyone have an idea how to play a burned second disc on a game like FF8 ect? help anyone?

yeah... i know how. if ur using a mod chip, then u got it made already.
if ur not, u have to swap. the trick to swapping the 2nd cd is to listen
for the little "beeps". every beep signals the time to switch cd's. the
2nd cd swapping is really tricky, as u have to do the whole swapping
process in about 3-5 seconds, depending on the game. it took me a relaly
long while to get it, but i finally did. if u can't do it after many tries,
just get the game or borrow it from a friend :)

Re: playing burned psx double disc games

You need a Mod chip or If you have one of the Playstations start it with an original disc then as its starts up swap the disk for the copy

: Anyone have an idea how to play a burned second disc on a game like FF8 ect? help anyone?

Re: playing burned psx double disc games

Forget about mod chip or modification chip. This chip is cheap but If you're not an electronic enthusiast, then forget it, you have to shed dollars from your pocket. Swapping?? you still have to have the original version with you, so what's the use. Also it's very tricky and very annoying. I have an ISO image file which you can use to start your psx, and then swap with your burned cd. It works!!! The catch is, the iso image file will only work if you will use EasyCD Creator 2.0 Once you have this version, let me know

PC Akai Mesa question ?

I have a PIII 500 mhz, 20gig hard drive. How do I get my PC to recognise that there is a sampler on line. It doesn't recoginize it.

My sampler is an Akai CD3000XL. It has a 25 pin SCSI that I have connected to my (50 pin) SCSI card on my PC via an adapter.

Please help ?

Warren

Re: PC Akai Mesa question ?

Warren,
I had the same problem with akai 3000XL.
I solved it by downloading the new sampler OS from the akai site.

What do I need to record from my Amp to PC?

What hardware is required to hook up my guitar amp to my PC for recording? I know very little of the MIDI world so be specific as possible

Re: What do I need to record from my Amp to PC?

: What hardware is required to hook up my Keyboard to my PC for recording? I know very little of the MIDI world so be specific as possible, and what program(s) can I download so
I can see the notes on the computer.

Re: What do I need to record from my Amp to PC?

you need a line out on your amp, a typical sound card has a 1/8 inch microphone input, so you will need a 1/4 to 1/8 adaptor, they are really cheep, get them at radio shack or something, you will also need at least 2 instrument cables, more if you use effects, and finally, i'm assuming that you are using windows, in the volume controll icon that's probally in the lower right hand corner, you click on options, then on properties, and adjust the recording so that the microphone button is checked.

Cheat the software

Does anybody know of a way to trick Games and stuff into thinking you have a soundcard when you don't. At home I have a really kick@ss system,
but I'm wanting to play games at work, and I can't just install a soundcard
to my work computer. I'm looking for a way to make software think I have a sound card, please help.

Re: Cheat the software

I haven't tried this, but it just might work:
Go to the add hardware utility in windows, and have it search for hardware.. it shouldn't find anything ;)
When it asks if you want to manually install teh drivers, choose yes, and pick a soundcard, such as SOundblaster or 100% compatible.
that should do it.. if not, then you shoudl be able to tell teh program you don't want audio to be used.

Don't get caught

Remove the voice-over from a recording

Hi,
I recorded a real cool mix from the radio with a tape recorder. Now I want to make the recording digital, but that is not the problem. Over the mix there are these annoying voice breaks by some Diskjockey and also a couple of irritating jingles.

Is there someone of you who knows with what program it is possible to remove these annoyances from my recording?

Converting liquid audio to mp3

Cubase 4.1 mutli-ch. playback

I cannot figure out how to play more than 8 channels of audio simutaeneously in this program. It seems as though I must group or bounce somehow but cannot figure out how. Can anyone help? Also the editing functions when editing a track or lane seem to not act as indicated in the manual is anyone having problems understanding the electronic documenation on this?

Re: Cubase 4.1 mutli-ch. playback

I suppose it has to do with your soundcard, how many channels does it support?

Memory

Logic 4.1.3 on the Macintosh gives track relative to how much memory the application is using, I don't know if this is what you have or a PC. If I overdo the RAM given to the program, it says I can only have X amount of tracks. Just a thought...

Streaming mp3 audio

Is it possible to make streaming mp3 audio. Similar to the real audio.
do we have any software that does this

Thanx

Amp Radio

There is a Macintosh program called AMP Radio that allows Shoutcast streaming of MP3 audio. There maybe a Win version. The program is made by a company called Subband and cost a very resonable $10. You can generally consider it a radio broadcaster and listen to others doing the same.

help needed on ordinary record + converting to wav.

Dear all,

Can someone help me out with this one. I have an 8 track digital recorder, a computer with soundcard and a CDwriter, I have no scusi or whatever, just a 3mm and/or 6mm jack as output on the 8track... Again I have no other option.
I have recorded my songs and now want to get them on a CD. Could anyone help me ? Thanks in advance !

So....

You need to get the songs into your computer. Connect the 8track to the Computers minjack input. If you don't have a program for recording the input to a .WAV/.AIF then get one from the link at the bottom of the message.

You should now have a .WAV of your song. You didn't mention what CD burner software you have but it will certainly burn a WAVE file into a listenable format on the CD burner.

Cheers

Re: So....

: Steve, thanks... could you advice what software I should download, the link you
added leads to a multitude of software programmes, please advice me on a simple one that you know that works.
thanks again,
jack

I'm a macintosh user so...

I use a Macintosh and therefore don't exactly know what program you should use but after looking down the list, I would be tempted to try the following. If it doesn't do what you want it to (it says it does) then throw it back at the forum.

Steve....

Re: help needed on ordinary record + converting to wav.

Addendum : I mean what kind of software do I need to install, where to get it from, how to obtain best results ? thanks

Logic Audio : no effects while listening input

Effects are not applied in real time. I only hear them after having recorded the audio source. With Cubase VST it works.

You suck

I have been looking for and mp32wav player and when I search for it I get you and the page says what I'm looking for but I have to go to a link and searchy through everything to find it. I hate you guys. You suck so incredibly much. 8o(

No no no... you got it all wrong. We don't
suck. We blow...!! And if you can't manage
to find what you're looking for on this site,
then you're either a complete moron, or you're
just plain lazy.

Not everyone here either sucks or blows. Digeridoo players can suck and blow at the same time!

problem in my real audio player for mac

the audio (real player) does not work in my Mac, it was already installed, but may have been deleted by mistake... how to resolve the problem?

.....

Does it not work in your browser do you mean or does the Application not work? Do a search for REAL in sherlock and double check that it isn't hiding somewhere. You may find that you just have to select it in your browsers application list, in preferences.

Real player 8 has just come out of beta and you should try that out (depending on the age of your Mac). If you dont have it at all and use Netscape then you can go to Netscape Smart update and it will tell you what you have and have not installed in the browser and download and install it for you. Otherwise just go to Real.com and download it and install it from new.

Cheers

/**\.....SF2 and cubase vst24@Mixdown...../**\

Hey people, in cubase vst24 is it possible to do a mixdown of the internal soundfonts in my sblive card directly to harddisk. At the moment i have to play my tunes into minidisc then record back into the pc again, by the time it goes on cd, the quality sounds like puss. when i do 'export audio' all i hear is the wav mixdown-no midi at all. all sounds are internal so i dont see y it isnt implemented into the program.

Any help as usual would be super cool.

Re: /**\.....SF2 and cubase vst24@Mixdown...../**\

i have the same setup, and although i havent tried this, i reckon:
select......play control: midi (to play your sequence back, triggering your soundfonts.

select......record contr.:wave audio ( to record the output of your soundcard.
vst should be receiving your wave output as the sblive is your recording interface.

play the sequence and arm an audio track to record and it should get the outout of your card playing your soundfonts.

if you have audio tracks to playback as well, this could cause feedback tho!

i think the 'what you hear' record select allows playback of audio, cd, whatever you select to all be sent to your recordings.

i hope this works!

WHAT CAN CONVERT A FAT-ASS MP3???

I have several large MP3s (around 23 minutes, over 13 MBs, Grateful Dead stuff...) that desparately need to be burned, but WinAmp, HP Music Match, and several other lesser-knowns fail when attempting to convert then to WAV. They usually only convert the first 13 minutes or so, then cut them off. Is there a decoder that has the juice to convert large MP3s?

Re: WHAT CAN CONVERT A FAT-ASS MP3???

I use Steinbergs "wavelab" - it'll rip it as big as you want (expensive though).
