i need a software or a program that improves the quality of mp3's. for example if i have downloaded an mp3 of 128kbps and i want to convert it to 192kbps. if there really exists a software that has the ability to improve the quality, then plzzz seach it for me and send the downloading link for it.

MP3's are generally a tenth of the original size due to the fact that the MP3 codec selectively removes sounds that it think you wouldn't be able to hear anyway. This means that it removes quieter frequencies that you wouldn't hear through the louder ones. Although this technology has made the internet music sharing experience a reality, it comes at a price.

Mp3's are worse quality than the originals because of what has been take away. You can't re- record it at a high bit rate and expect anything that was originally removed to come back.

The are some audio restoration programs available on this website in the download area so go and take a look at those. You may need an MP3 to wave convertor as some of the programs will only load wave files. The programs may remove noise and process with Eq etc.... Give it a go..

In the instructions for installing the upgrade for windows media player, it mentioned preventing assorted cookies etc by going to 'tools', 'internet security' and putting the slider to 'high'.
Cannot find this on tools menu. Any suggestions??

I have found that experimenting with security in Internet Explorer is tricky, but useful...

First of all, you need to manually set every single security option in the menu, for each level. Don't try to rely on the presets cause they are very faulty. Internet Explorer is designed to cater to commercial websites and cookie monsters, not normal users like you and me. Disable everything, including Java. if that's too frightening, then just turn up all safety to high... but you must customize each security level. Don't trust IE, it will trick you. If you enable any cookies, just let them be the expiring kind.

The bottom line is this: Java/frames/cookies/counters/profiles/pop=up windows/userdata...

these are all designed to work together to trick you into landing on their websites and buying their junk, and seeing their ads.

Trust me, I have used Lynx, Websucker, Mosaic, iCab, Netscape, and Internet Explorer.... multiple versions of each. I have learned that the more you can turn off your browser, the faster and better it will be.

If you can, don't use Internet Explorer or Windows Media Player at all. Besides, that SRS wow bullshit might sound good, but without it, regularly good audio sounds worse than normal.

I'm still trying to defeat my PC. My mac never got so uppity with me. iCab is the best browser, but only if you're using the demo versions tweaked to be nice. Turn off all the Java-like junk and it's just peachy.

The web and internet isn't really dependent upon all of that advertising crap and marketing tricks, but they'd like to keep you in the dark so maybe you'll buy into it.

I hope these work for you... don't give up.

MIDI to WAV.... please!

I have a PC witha lot of MIDI files on it that I want to add to my ULEAD Video Studio files. Unfortunately for me, the Video Studio doesn't accept MIDIs, it accepts WAVs. Is there any simple way I can convert these MIDIs to WAVs? I stress the word SIMPLE. Preferrably some sort of free program (that actually works) that just changes the format from MIDI to WAV. I've also heard you can do it with Sound Recorder, but i couldn't figure out how. I would really appreciate any help-

this is easier than drinking milk from a cow's tits(??!!).first go to the midi sequencers page here and download quartz audio master freeware.install it(duh) and import your midi file into it!then set your soundcard's recording input to "wave" and play back the midi.it will be recorded as audio!nice eh?all you have to remember is midi isn't actual sounds but commands!so you play back the midi through your soundcard and record it;much like you'd record to a tape machine etc!and as far as audio master is concerned,you'll find it'll go a lot further than that!so good luck!

midi is just like giving orders to your external keybaord
or soundcard. It is just a language to make your machines play.
You can not convert midi file into wave file and,
i'm sure you'll be ashamed about having ask this question in a near futur
but i forgive you!
you can record your machines playing via an audio interface
by linking your keyboards or expanders to your sound card and using
a midi/audio sequencer. Then, you get wave file !

What you need is Multitrack Recording software. There
is a huge range of programs you can download from this

If you are on Windows and just starting out I would
strongly suggest you download <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/n-Track_studio/">n-Track Studio</a>.

If you have experience with mulitrack recording then
you might appreciate more powerful packages like

I have a Kurzweil piano and I have recorded music onto a disc so that I can burn a CD with it. However, it sayed the files as .SNG files, which I cannot open. Is there a way I can convert from .SNG to .MID?

I'm trying to do the same thing. So far, all I've found out is that it depends on the Kurzweil instrument you have. If you have Mark 12, you can save in .MID format from the keyboard. But if you only have Mark 10, that isn't possible. You can only save as .SNG. (Though Kurzweil says SNG files *are* MIDI files!) See this page for a little more info:

that's incredible, i think every body, in all the world have this probleme with *.sng files, and i think nobody have a real solution. I have this probleme and i haven't any good solution but the only thing i think we can do is to take the file with a midi out cable inject in a midi sequencer what record that in *.mid or in the computer. But when we have 100 and x100 sng files to convert in mid file... ok if someone have The Solution... Thank you verry much for helt us.

I have a sequencer programm called "maxic music studio" which can convert the sngs to mid. Maybe other sp can do the same.

IT IS ALL TO DO WITH YOUR SETTINGS IE.MAKE SURE YOU FRANCHISE YOUR DISK BEFORE COPYING AND IT JUST DEPENDS WHAT SOFTWARE YOU ARE USING

I have the same problem.I bought a Casio WK-1800 with a floppy drive. My computer won't play the floppys. I have 3 midi players, including 1 with notation software. None of them will play the floppys. I checked them on my daughters, and my grandaughters computers, but still no luck. My sister has a Samick electronic piano, but they won't play on it either. The floppys she makes, will play on my computer, but not on my Casio keyboard. I'm going to call Casio Technical Support, and see if they can help me. I posted a question today, maybe someone has
some answers.

: What a frekkin boat that 1800 is! I bought for the low $$ and the sounds, but I should've considered file formats and sheer bulk also. I just got a CTK-371 and must use all new formats but all my work on my .CS3 files is wasted unless I can convert them somehow. Good luck.

Windows Media 7 - sound samples

Does anyone know if the Media 7 player (windows 98 and above only) can be used to copy parts of tracks i.e. 30 second sound samples. I know it can be used to copy whole Cd tracks onto your hard drive, but I don't think it can be used to copy chunks of tracks.....anyone?

Need Help connecting MIDI Keyboard to a mac

I have a MIDI keyboard as well as a Dr-5 and some software (Cakewalk Metro, Cubase), but I don't have a MIDI input on my mac. Any clues as to where I can get one, internal or external, so I can import my music?
