I got one not too long ago, the electronics sound good, I'm using it with sawplus32 software, and it works fine, doesn't seem to be anybody home at the website or the phone numbers.... Now that I'm ito it, I'm thinking about getting the expander, but I'm kinda scared. You've had it a while longer than me, what do you think now?

I have one and when it's working, it's great. Unfortunately, I lost the left computer channel two weeks ago, and despite several e-mails and phone messages,(no live people at customer support), I have had no replies. This is supposed to be a Pro unit and it may be, but Tech support certainly isn't.

I do not own one, but I have been recording with
the SoloEx. Its pretty nice. The interface is
intuitive and The mic preamps sound pretty damn good

Roland sounds solid and is easier on the hardware,
whereareas Yamaha sounds sweet but artificial. Yamaha cheats by using the XG format which is non-standard. Yamaha also loses sync because it hogs cpu usage. Thumbs up for Roland but I agree, Wingroove can win beat them both on some midis.
(Roland is free with win98 but ironically, you need a crap sound card to make it install).

I have both Yamaha and Roland ,but I HONESTLY think Roland has a beter sound quality(like crystal clear).On the other hand Yamaha uses the CPU MUCHE BETTER as far as "PARTIALS".(Less cuts of sound.)

First: Sorry for my terrible english.
OK, VSC-88 sounds better on Standard-MIDIs, but
the Yamaha is great if you have XG-MIDIs.
And: Sometimes you will find MIDIS that will sound
terrible on the Yamaha, and sometimes there are
MIDIS that will Sound terrible on VSC88.
I use them both.

try calling Thore Speaker repair
1-800-272-0320
he reconed my 15" gauss speaker with original
replacement coils. You really need to have the speaker that
the cabinet is designed for.
