i have just got a CTK-731. Do you know where i can buy or get some software for it.it came with a single disc which is not very good.Hope someone can advise me. play on doods!!!!!

Most of my music files are in MusicTime Format. MusicTime will create MIDI files but not the right kind. So I went to the Voyetra site and downloaded the free version of their music software so I can open the MIDI file I create with MusicTime and save it as the correct version of MIDI for the keyboard. So the procedure is open MusicTime open the file or create the file, save as MIDI in MusicTime. Close the MusicTime files. Then open Voyetra and open the MIDI you just saved in MusicTime and perform a “save as” using Voyetra to designate the correct MIDI file type. You will see those in the dropdown menu just below the place where the file name goes when you do a save-as to the A drive and voila a file that can be played on the CTK-731.

Now I am one pissed grandma. I had to figure out all of this myself. The only clue Casio customer service gave me was that Voyetra was the software support company for the keyboards. Nobody could help me with the software in Casio Customer Service. So they had me call Voyetra. Well that was interesting. They license the software to Casio but they aren’t equipped to provide customer support for creating files the software on the keyboard can use. They referred me back to Casio Customer support as they were sure Casio had the answer. Each time I called Casio Customer Support I got a different person and had to walk through the whole business again. Had discussions to the point where I was comparing this file version problem to having two different versions of an MS Word document..the newer versions cannot be read by the older version. This is what is happening to Casio’s poor customers. We have music software that saves MIDI files in newer versions than their keyboard can read, hence the error message. The whole concept of file versions was lost on them. What a bunch of fence posts. So I told them they were idiots and hung up. That is when I downloaded the Voyetra trial version of their music composition software just to do the file conversions. It worked.

My brother Chris and I really need to become famous singers. all our life we was talking about it. We wrote 2 songs, the first is called "big foot 10" the other song is called "run away" almost every night my brothers and I would play "American Idol" and I would always win since 2003 I was always talking about being a singer. My band name would be 412.

P.S. I am 12 and my brother is 14 and I hope I can be accepted to be a singer.I would do whatever it takes to be a singer. thanx.

Hey man, i actually make rap beat on fruity loops. It took a litlle while to figure out, but once you get the basic princepals down you can't stop. Drop a line back, and I'll let you know how to get started.

basically i think that u need 2 get urself a keyboard if u want 2 create fruity loops, using a 4 2 8 beat which where u could add latino and other spanish beats to create the perfect sound to produce it worldwide,,member 2 keep trying and not 2 give up,,i'm a rapper so imajining this kind of sound would be easy 4 me...gurj

Audio editors will allow you to load a wave file and then chop and change it around to your hearts content. You could copy sections of the wave and save them seperately. You can do so many things with a wave that it doesn't bare describing in full. You can certainly just chop one up and save them as seperate waves.

One problem with editing is that you create a digital click where the cut point is unless you cut at the quietest place. Some editors will give you a "Search Zero Crossing" which will find the quietest place closest to where you are trying to cut. In the real world of cutting a full blown happening song means that you may not be able to find a suitably quiet place. If I cut a wave file and it clicks, then I use Peak (Macintosh) as an audio editor and it will search and destroy clicks. Generally, I select the clicky area on the wave and compress/limit it out.

Look in the file area on this board for Audio Editors and experiment...
