i've just started using peak sound software.
the problem i have is this,
whenever i change the "duration" of a sample, i get this brief "double track" at the begining of the sample. it kind of sounds like an echo that plays over the sample for only a brief second. can anyone help? thanks.

need HELP with wavelabs and CDR setup

Maybe I'm missing something easy but could someone point me in the right direction for getting wavelabs to recognize my CDR. I cant seem to find any menus that might allow me enter a drive. I have a Sony scsi burner if that makes a difference. Thanks for any help or ideas you may have!

Check this website www.real.com/player. I believe the Real Player will play those files. There's also a program called Real Producer that may convert to RM.

Find out duplicate files

Find out duplicate files with same content , same name or same size on your computer or specify paths , sort result files by file name , version and size, date time. Help you delete the old version or no use files to Save your disk space. And find out the most up-to-date version files to solve the file version conflict .

Virtual Sampler

The download page is really screwed up. Can't find the file on the server & one of the banners gets stuck repeating like a broken record never escaping its own little download process. Download fail button doesn't work because of the banner problem.

Hello! greetings 2 everyone. I have a big problem on ripping cd audio format to mp3 format. When I ripped my cd audio to mp3 the sound decreases during playback of mp3, the same thing when i ripped my cd audio to wave format the sound also decreases during playback. So the level of the sound of cd audio compare to the ripped mp3/wave format is degraded to a number of %. I've shift to different software but it does the same thing.

If you are talking about the whole file being lower in level than the orignal audio then it may be the difference between your record and play back settings, either in the program you are using or the windows volume control. Remeber there are two one for playback and one for recording.

Burning CD's at slower speed.....

Can anyone tell me if burning music CD's at a lower speed makes a better quality CD? I've been told that going full speed ( 8x or 12x ) produces a somewhat distorted result. I am wanting to purchase a Cd Burner, but if this info is true, I won't waste my $ getting the fastest one on the market. Can anyone also answer this?...My buddy made a few disks and in some of the songs, there is a very short, high pitched squeek in them. Not all of them do this, but the ones that do are very anoying. Is this maybe that speed theory that some some talk about? or is this a problem with the song itself? Any info would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

Nathan, those high pitched squeaks you're hearing are most often cause by poor cd audio extraction, not burning. If you'd like extra security, check out Plextor's recorders, which have a 'Burn-proof' technology that helps ensure a perfect burn everytime.

No scientific facts offered here - just experience of tracks 'jumping' when I record at 4x ... to be safe I generally record at 2x and extra safe at 1x

:For every person who tells you record slow, you will find another who says it makes no difference at all. See Fiero (freeware) and then search for this topic and get a point of view from others.
I have recorded at all speeds, then compared to original and have found no difference in quality.
I have both a cd burner and a home unit. If you are recording MP3 files, there is always a chance the MP3 was done with crappy encoding. I don't know how many times I have downloaded, listend and then heard clicks, pops and other distortion. Sometimes the distortion isn't clear until you slap it on a high quality speaker and stereo system and there it is. I am considerin purchasing a MP3 player which attaches to my stereo.

Hello all:
I have the following setup:

Cubase AV, Mac G3, ASR-X Pro, PC-300 MIDI Keyboard Controller.

The PC-300 keyboard controller is connected to the Mac by USB;

The PC-300 is connected to the ASR-X Pro by a MIDI cord.

I can't get the MIDI signals from Cubase AV on the Mac to control the ASR-X Pro. How do I get these to work together?

I am relatively new to playing with midi files, so please don't think me stupid.I recently purchased a Digtech vocalist VR and it requires a cc# 21 with a value of 65- 127 in order to recognize a key change and I have NO IDEA how to do this with a pro audio 9.Any help you could give me would be deeply appreciated.THANKS. watch out leo. if the music you want to put on a webpage breaks copyright law, you could get into legal trouble. basically you'd upload the files to an ftp server and write an html page which links to the files.

connecting keycoard KN1600 to PC

Please help me here. I am trying to figure out how to connect my Technics KN1600 keyboard to my pc.I got the midi cables and all hook up properly. I connected it to the joystick port and change the setting on the keyboard to pc2.But still it is not working.I am using cakewalk,cooledit and protools(all demos version).i am using turtle beach soundcard.

hoontech dsp24 gigasampler crash

Hope someone can help me.
I have a DSP24 Value without the extra bracket, So i drive my midi in through a built in soundblaster on my motherboard.
This combination works with most softsynths i tried, reality, reaktor.
But for some reason when i try to run Gigasampler it crashes as son as i
strike a note from my midi keyboard.

Cubase crashes when i choose to work with VST Instrument.

Hi gang! What a great place. I have two problems:
1) When using BPM Home Studio on my laptop, mp3 files play back with significant static/fuzz. This doesn't happen in any other program (PCDJ, Winamp). I have no idea what the cause might be, and have played with reinstalling the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft as a solution.

I really like BPM but can't seem to clear up this problem. Any ideas?

2) I've attempted attaching my laptop's headphone out jack to my stereo using PCDJ Red, and the quality is way less than desirable. Seems that the sound level is fairly high, requiring me to notch the master volume WAY down, and that the lower end of the sound spectrum is saturated, while the highs are virtually non existant. Again, this happens with all MP3's.

I'm trying to use my laptop to DJ via my home entertainment system. Its a Dell Latitude, PII. It has no line out and a Neomagic MagicMedia 256 built in sound card.

Thanks for any help.. party on Saturday so I'm stressing!!

The copy protection key could not be found! Please make sure it is plugged into the printer port!
Has anyone got any ideas on how to make it work???

When I arm track 2 to record, track 1 plays back distorted...it plays back normal until track 2 is armed...using pro audio 8 w/ soundblaster 16 card and windows 95...any ideas??? any help would be most appreciated.

1st option page: Make music CD. Drag 10 tracks to bottom panel. Advanced options - Disc-at-once .. this should eliminate the gap ... or if it don't, paste all the waves end-to-end in Cool Edit or similar and save as one big, long track ... could be the better option as you can fade in & out (crossfade) for smoothness ...
