Convert .au .rm midi to other formats

1. I got some files with extension .au out of the net. How
can I convert those to any other 'normal' format like
MP3, WAV, Audio ?

2. Same problem I have file Audio files for Real Player
(ext. rm), I don't know how to convert those, too.

3. Is there any possibility to convert midi files to
an audio format (or MP3, WAV) so that I can bring them
to an audio CD?

I would be nice, if somebody out there had an answer
to these or one of these questions.

Re: Convert .au .rm midi to other formats

Hey,

I Know how you can change real audio files(.rm,.ram,.ra) into WAVs or Mp3. You Need A Program Called Streambox Ripper. Put it into a Search Engine and you should be able to find a Download site. If You Can Find StreamboxVCR (real2wav.exe) you can rip RealAudio off the net as it streams. If you cant get either of these, you could download Total Recorder from highcritera.com as a last resort, but it is not free.....

Hope This Helps :0)

converting mp3 into wav using easy cd creator 5 platinum

I recently purchased an Iomega cd burner - unfortunately, it came bundled with an older vesion of Adeptec Easy Cd Creator. In order to covert an mp3 into wave, I found myself using an unreliable programe, and so decided to purchase Easy Cd Creator 5 Platinum edition. I was told that this would do it for me. Ok, but how? The convert icon doesn't light up when I hghlight an mp3 file, and the process doesn't seem to allow me to convert the one into the other in order to create a cd. any help would be appreciated

Well, I am a German and I hope I understood your
question correctly. If you actually want to convert
mp3 to another format and store that as a file, too,
then you will need another conversion program.
However, if you just want to burn an audio CD out
of your mp3 files, that will work fine with
Easy CD Creator.

I also use Adeptec Easy CD Creator. To create a CD
out of MP3 files it's not necessary to convert the
files. If you use the explorer window, you will
see three windows:
a) upper part left the directory structure, where
can click on a directory
b) upper right part the audio files (mp3, wav etc)
which are in that directory
c) lower part the CD layout = the titles, that
will be burned to the CD

You just need to click at the mp3 file and pull it
into the layout window. It will appear there
without the extension mp3. When the program burns
the CD, it automatically converts the files. You
cannot see it, the converted file is not saved
as WAV or whatever, it's just converted and
burned correctly. Obviously you create an image
file first before actually burning the CD; that
works, too; the image file contains the converted
version your mp3 files.

You can even mix up mp3, wav, wda or anything that
Easy CD Creator recognizes as an 'audio file' and
shows it in the upper right window. The program
will always convert automatically during burning
the CD or creating the image file.

Hope I could help you.

Re: converting mp3 into wav using easy cd creator 5 platinum

You can do this directly in Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum.

Use the SoundStream component, under "make a music CD" in the Project Selector.

Once you're in SoundStream, open the directory that contains the file(s) you want to convert
in the left side of the window. Then click on the files icon above the right side of the window
this opens the Save File As dialog.

In the Save as Type drop-down, select WAV files.

The quality you get will depend a lot of the initial quality of your mp3s - it's impossible to convert
from mp3 to WAV and get full CD quality.

How to match chords to music?

OK, I know how to play some guitar chords, and can read chords in a music sheet:
But how do I match chords to accompany any existing music? What are the 'rules' to do that? Is there any site that can help mw with it?
Thanks

Re: How to match chords to music?

well id you are wanting to improvise, simply figure out the root notes ( an ear for pitch is a plus for this). Just determine a root note, then use a chord based around it. Experiment. If you are wanting to learn a particular song by some artist try going to www.guitartabs.cc or a site like that and see if you can find the tab.

Re: How to match chords to music?

Use chords which use the most possible notes used by other elements (melodies or whatever) within that bar.
ie. If a melody consists of C, E and G, use the chord C Major.

Ummm, theres more, but I'd have to go into the whole of music theory, and I cant be arsed ;o)

help

does any one know how I can hook up a cassette player to my pc,and transfer the music to my hard drive then to a cd burner?, my tapes are old and I'm afraid that soon they will no longer be any good.
THANKS

Re: help

Should be easy - connect the L & R outputs of your tape deck to the mic socket on your soundcard - you can get a made up cable at any shop or use adaptors and imagination ... use any recording software ... don't think it's so important which .. record in stereo .. do a test run and the recording VU-meter in the recording software should be just starting to hit red at peak volumes ... you can possibly clean the hiss up afterwards using EQ or other hiss reduction (Cool Edit / Soundforge ... ) ... gl.
