Re: Programs like fruityloops3

Well thats a tough one, here's a list of other programs but Fruity Loops 3 is pretty dam good.
If your just using preset sounds and samples you never achevie what you want to achevie. Try using VST plug-ins to alter your sounds. Reverbs and Delays are good for adding Atmosphere. Experment.

How do I copy CD's with multiple data types?

I want to copy a music cd, but because the final track is a special music video bonus, my burning software won't let me proceed! I'm using CDRWin V3.6. Is there any way I can get round this problem?
Cheers,
Tim.

Re:

On both nero & Easy CD creator there is an option of multiformat burning, sorry but I don't know about CDR Win 3.6...

how can i remove the voice of the singer from a song

can you suggest some software for removing the voice of the singer from the software

Re: how can i remove the voice of the singer from a song

This question has been answered several times already.

The simple fact is that it is impossible to completely remove the singer
from pre-recorded music without affecting the instrumental part of the
music as well.

Filters can be used to reduce how prominent a singer is, but they will
also affect any instrument that happens to play in the same frequency
range. Trying to remove the singer by blanking off the part of the
stereo image where he/she is will also remove any instrument that happens
to be in the same position, and that he/she doesn't move about.

The only way to obtain commercial music without the singer present it to
look for a specially prepared karaoke version, where the singer has been
removed before the track was mixed.

Hope this answers the question.

Re: how can i remove the voice of the singer from a song

hello,
please i am in need of a software which removs vocal from MP3 songs upto 95%.
please mail the software if possible otherwise give me the link from which i can download

bye

Re: how can i remove the voice of the singer from a song

Andy is completely correct - there is no reliable
way to do this apart from buying a Karaoke mix.

If you want an unreliable way of doing it with software
then download and try either the AnalogX or YoGen
vocal remover software - you can get them <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/cgi/htdig/htsearch.cgi?method=and&format=builtin-long&config=htdig&restrict=%2Fsmm%2Fprograms%2F&exclude=&words=vocal+remover">here</a>.

Re: how can i remove the voice of the singer from a song

Well Andy I really feel soory for you and I do not want to disappoint you but I already spend quite a few hundred dollars in trying those softwares and none of those products really works OK. The problem is that they do not separate the vocals completely form original records. The lead voice, anyway still there, it sounds like the singer is singing into a big can of trash. But You can try if you want. I think that the best option is the Thompson vocal remover but unfortunately I can not afford to buy it because it cost a little bit more than a thousand dolar$$$$$. Good Luck in your search.

Re: how can i remove the voice of the singer from a song

ok here is a way of removing vocals from a track.
You will find this better experimenting on like an old beatles track to get the general idea.
Import the stero mix into a sound editor like soundforge. select one channel of the recording only. use the invert/flip feature. this in effect swaps the panning of the origional mix about. no seleect both channels of the stereo mix and convert to mono. although this might not work well on all recordings. bnut short of having the origional mix then there is no real way of removing the vocals completely. however i have found the above methed to be quite usefull. good luck and happy playing. please visit my site http://reason2bechearfull.tripod.com

Re: how can i remove the voice of the singer from a song

I read in a magazine that this can be done using soundforge. It has some function to select certain ranges of frequencies which can then be eliminated.

I've never tried to do it, as it is a long process. If you want to try it, good luck!!

Although it depends 99% on what type of music you want to edit (ie. drum and bass or music with stings) it is possible to lower the prevelence of the existing vocal tracks with the eq. If you're going to add another v/o on top of it it doesn't sound that bad.

tell me haw pls

Re: Here's What I Do

I have had some good results with the AnalogX vocal remover program. I find that the program works well on some tracks and terrible on others (in fact more than most don't work very well).

It all depends on the mix of the original recording, because eliminating the "center" and leaving what is panned will sometimes eliminate whole instruments, while at other times the vocal, or the stereo reverb of the vocal, might be on the sides and remain on the track with an annoying ghost-like sound. Still I find that one or two out of ten recordings work reasonably well. Modern recordings with panning often work better, mono recordings do not work at all, nor do stereo remasters of old recordings that were essentially mono originally.

So the first step is to try lots of tracks with AnalogX Vocal Remover and be satisfied with the ones that work the best. The second step which I do is to put the original recording and the vocal-removed recording into a a multi-track editor (I use vegas, but anyone will do, Nuendo, Cool Edit, etc) and line up the two tracks. I crossfade the vocal-removed track and the original only on the parts where the singer actually sings, retaining the intro, solos, interludes etc. of the original. Even music between phrases and words can be crossfaded back in. This is great, because the music is always a little bit compromised, but it insures that whenever you hear the music alone it sounds like the original and when you are singing the other parts it is less noticable because of the vocal.

how can I remove the music...?

and have only the voice left?

Re: how can i remove the voice of the singer from a song

Not disagreeing, I understand where you are coming from, but I was under the impression that software filters nowadays can do this to a great extent, as you stated. ALSO, (and I am not sure of this) I think Cool Edit said something about if the vocals are all on one track, you can simply remove that track. I understand what they mean, but I do not know of a way to separate formats such as mp3s, back into tracks. Does this make any sense ? :P

True 4 Channel MIDI

Let's say I have a MIDI file with 4 separate vocal harmonies. Are there such things as true 4 channel discrete MIDI souncards, plus the simple software to allocate each of the MIDI tracks to a separate channel?
For rehearsal purposes hi-fi is not imporatant, but channel separation is, particularly for very close dichordant harmony. Can I use two cheap cards concurrently?

Many thanks for any help.

Regards, John

Re: True 4 Channel MIDI

I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but it appears that
you want a sound card with four outputs so that you can send
each MIDI channel to a separate one.

If this is the case, the current SoundBlaster Live! cards
and the Videologic SonicFury all have five channels (Dolby 5.1)

However, finding software to assign a MIDI channel to each one -
I've not seen any.

BRASS

Can brass instruments, like trumpets or trombones be recreated in any of these virtual studios. I have a demo of Orion, it seems to only be able to recreate percussion and strings well. Is it the software or the fact that I'm new to this and just don't know how to do this.

Re: BRASS

Even if you use the best samples on a virtual instrument & clever midi control, you'll see it's not perfect. An expensive synthesizer would go nearer the natural sound of brass instruments (due to many reasons like multitimbrality, multi sampled patches & so on), but eventually you should rent a brass section (you know 5 or more guys -or girls-, to actually perform:)...

'Format' creator for winamp playlist needed

I want to have a 'format' maker to create a playlist for winamp.
Let me explain:
I want to create a playlist due to a certain format.

For example: i've got 4 directories with different kind of musical styles,
and I want to create a format like this: Pick a song from directory 1 (at random), after that one from dir. 2 (also at random), then from dir. 3 and then from dir. 4. After that start again with playing a song from directory 1. Do you get me?
It's hard too find something like this, although I thought something like this must be available. I need this to create a playlist for a radiostation, with of course, a format. that's why I'm looking for a solution. any ideas and/or software available?

Thanx in advance!

Mark.

The words music production describe the task in which you provide hardware & advice to artists in order to make money.
