Adaptec - having trouble making audio cd..Help!!

I've been using Adaptec Easy CD Creator for a few months now, with no hitches. We've just had new motherboard in computer, and when I tried to create an audio cd from mp3 files yesterday, I couldn''t do it...When I open the folder that contains my mp3 files, it tells me that there are "No audio files in the folder"....yet I can play them through the pc via winamp, and when I open the folder via "my computer", they are all there - 150 of them! Yesterday I burned photos onto cds, and dumped mp3 files onto cd...can anyone point me in the right direction? Many thanks for your help!!

Re: Adaptec - having trouble making audio cd..Help!!

Open Easy CD creator and convert your mp3s to wav to burn an audio CD.

WAREZ HELLL...

The people that come hear asking for warez are slowly removing the people that come here for the
reasons that the forum is here, to ask and answer questions and are therefore selfishly killing this
forum.

The forum represents more a warez hangout these days than a serious music forum and it is
starting to tire me out. I like it here in some ways but can't be doing with this any more. Something
has to change and it's not going to be in the stupid little children department...

I am just short of collecting email addresses from here and forwarding them to the pirating
authorities just to show people that posting illegal messages 'Anywhere' is a really dumb thing to
do... I may bail out before that event though.. haven't decided yet. There needs to be some sort of
control here... It's not working.... People can't even read for %£*£ sake...

Steve....R

WHAT?

what's your problem? i've seen 2 or 3 messages about wares here and I've seen many deleted too. get a grip man you have just messed the board up with that immature multi-post. this is a great resource and the wares posts are a minor inconvienience which is periodically delt with. do u want a policeman to monitor this board 24/7 just so u don't have to look at a wares request??? they are getting no responses anyway so chill out for f%£ks sake.

Listen up jonny boy...

Watch what you say if you clearly don't know anything about this forum. If you think the odd warez request is the reality here then you obviously haven't been here much at all. If you read down the posts and actually see what has been said by other users here then you will realize what a state this forum gets itself in. I was shouting my mouth off at the general forum, you have taken to insulting me and I wont have that.

I have been here for some time now although I did disappear from here out of frustration before. There are a lot of regulars that have fled for the same reasons. Repetative questions (overly repetative..) and people trying to wind each other up. Other than the website people, you can count the regulars here on one hand. I haven't seen one of them for sometime after his similar frustrations (again, actually read down the page and you will then understand) and the others come here rarely. If you want to take on the forum and try and contribute something to it then do so but don't come here hacking at me as it will be the last straw.

READ THE POSTS and don't think you get to turn up somewhere you may have never been (don't recognise the name) and start spurting at people.

Steve...R

you don't have much trouble insulting people huh?

r u a crack pot or something?

>you have taken to insulting me and I wont have that

ohoooo! I actually said your multi post was immature - i stand by that. It's not an insult but a statement of fact. Now you insult me???? Ha ha the irony of it. You don't like being insulted but you do it to others anyway?
Like I said get a grip man. The world does not revolve around you and u do not run this open message board. I use message boards everyday and you have to let people get on with it not loose your temper just cause someone is doing something u don't approve of. U so immature that a few warez posts make u pack up + go home???? Tell them they not welcome or ignore why is it so important to u?

Tiresome...

Jon,

Call me childish if you want but you are again missing the point. Why someone seems so ready to jump on someone that feels like this forum could be better only shows that you maybe on the wrong side, It would be far more constructive to observe what this forum should be about and help get rid of the people that are giving it a bad name rather than nit picking with people that are clearly part of the reason that it's worth coming here. I have spent many a message trying to guide people that can't be bothered to think for themselves or people that should keep away from computers and music for life. I know i'm not the only one that has put my head in my hands trying to wonder why it is worth coming back here but I always feel that there are people that turn up for legitimate reasons that make the revisit worthwhile. Most of the messages I post never receive a reply as most people are ignorant enough to think that everyone will respond to their badly typed messages personally. The internet etiquette is surely in it's infancy.

It's as simple as this... If you don't see what's going on here and don't want to be either one of the people that put up with the 10 messages to 1 that's worth answering or the person that spends the time to realise the problems that this forum endures, then piss off and go and bother someone else...

In the respect for the supposed adult nature of this forum, if you want to discuss this further, do so with my given email address as like a lot of others, have nothing to hide...

Steve...R

mmmm

yeah Steve tiresome, now u tellin me to piss off?!
wow man if that's not immature (note different from childish) then i must be missing something.
Yeah u are right to raise suspicions about me (whoah i don't type in an email!!!:O) because it makes you look more worthy than me!! Ha ha. Have i posted ANYTHING of an illeagal nature??? NO - so your vieled accusations are libelous. Your accusations are really 'beneath contempt' as they say. You really want to get real.

btw I jumped on you for messing the bloody board up. There's no need, THAT sort of posting will scare legitimate people away.

#AS I SAID# - if u want to ignore the wares posters or tell them there not welcome here then thats a good thing. By making a big thing about it you are not helping this board out.

problem loading songkeeper

I can't start "songkeeper". When I open the file, I get an error message "connection string not valid - check configuration page". When I click on the configuration page, I find nothing related to addressing. The vendor does not answer emails. Does anyone have a suggestion - it seems like a great program.

piano sight reading software

Hi,I am interested in piano and music reading tuition software for the beginner onward level.

Years ago, when I learnt to touch type I attended a "sight and sound" slide program. Basically you sat with your fingers on the
"home keys" and followed the finger drills that appeared on the screen. On the screen was the letter to be learnt and a diagram showing where on the typwriter's keyboard to place your fingers. So without looking at one's fingers on the keyboard I was able to touch type effectively within 10 sessions. I understand something similar is available for learning basic piano and music notation reading skills - sight reading.

I was wondering if you could recommend piano tuition software that uses a similar technique to teach piano music sight reading and playing - and advise how it might be purchased.

I would be most grateful for any advice you might have in this matter.

Thank you

slowing down recordings

Does anybody know of software that is easy and can resample the speed to half what is was recorded at. What I am doing is recoding at 16 times normal speed and I need a program that slow it down to normal speed or 1 to1 . Thanks to anyone who gives me a suggestion. Jason

Re: slowing down recordings

yeah u want an audio editor. goldwave or cool edit will do this sort of 'time stretching'. they v easy u just enter a line over a wave display of yer recording if i remember correctly. fatboy slim does this kind of thing all the time - u can also do gradual slow downs which sound cool.

jon

Joining MP3 files

What is the best way to join MP3 files? I have 10 individual MP3 files and they actually are one long album. What is the best way to join them? MP3 Merge left a click between tracks.

TIA,
Scott

Audio editor...

The main way I know is to load them into an audio editor and then cut and paste all the tracks in one after the other. This will require a good amount of disk space as the files will be uncompressed (usually) for the occasion. Save the whole file as one track.

If the track is one album and you burn it to CD like this, the CD player will report that there is one track to play as you will lose the individual track indexing. Is this what you want??

Also, the click is usually when an edit is made when there is information there. In other words, if you edit in areas where music can be heard, you will more than likely get an edit click. You either cut and paste where the music is quiet OR zoom in on the clicks later and remove them. The length of a click is usually very very small and that section (if you locate it properly) can be removed without adjusting the perceived tempo of the song...

Professional composer

Hello,

I am looking for the software Professional Composer. I had a floppy with the software on it. I recently had to have some repairs done on my powerbook 160. In which case I have lost my installation. I found after the fact that my install floppy no longer works. If someone would be kind enough to send it to me, or point me to a place where I may obtain it that would be great. It may sound odd but, I really want to continue to use that software for the time being. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will try to check this post from time to time. But if anyone has any information they may feel free to email me at anytime. My email address is pyloth@neis.net

Cassette machine outputs are compatible with the audio input on most computers. Just connect it up as you would expect and record the computers input. Record players are different and don't connect in the same way but, that's another story...
