Re: Musik editor

Wow. You want someone to look for an editor for you and you want them to email you the answer as well. That's a bit rude. All I can say is that there are thousands of programs on this site and you will have no problem finding an <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/cat/AUDIO_EDITORS/">editor</a> if you look for it :)

: Hi!
: I'm in great need of a good musik editor that's for free. Any ideas of where to look?
: Email me 'cause I almost never look here.

I need help reproducing a synth sound - link to a sample of wot

Hi, i want to reproduce a synth sound - just like the one in this clip = http://homepage.ntlworld.com/a.vernon/Voodoo&Serano.mp3

If you know a lot about this sort of thing email me to help me out. ;)

Im using at the moment Reason and Cubase - so if you can get these sounds from either, let me know.

shouldn't be hard

it's a basic enough sound with plenty of chorus by the sound of it. I not programming expert but if u mess about with sub presets u should get it easily. Then again it's not the best synth in the world sound wise - versatile yes. For the biggest fattest sound you ever heard check out Muon Tau Pro VSTi. You will get this sound with this baby in a second.

Re: shouldn't be hard

thanks dude. I will check that out - ive been meanin to get into cubase anyway.

TRANSFERING AUDIO CASSETTE TO CD'S

LOOKINF FOR SOFTWARE OR IDEALS TO TRANSFER MY OWN AUDIO TAPES TO CD'S HAVE A HP XT856 COMPUTOR THANKS

Re: TRANSFERING AUDIO CASSETTE TO CD'S

FIRST UP DONT TYPE EVERYTHING IN CAPITALS ITS HARD TO READ.

Just use a cd burner and any audio recording software. Flame me if you want but this is a frickin' stupid question.

Re: TRANSFERING AUDIO CASSETTE TO CD'S

What software package do you recommend. I just read that Dazzle Digital Video Creator 80 is not a good reliable way to go as far as video goes. But prehaps it would work for audio only. It comes with the cable to connect external video/audio equipment to computer. Your advice will be greatly appreciated.

Howdy Zorlab: One of the easyiest programs to learn is Cool Edit or any other audio editing program. You can record stereo tracks directly into it or work on samples you've downloaded or any other audio files you might have stored on your harddrive.

thanks to all , and..... (ins)

I want to find an easier way to put the sounds together and then edit, I am a musician, i can hear what i want and if I have the sources (samples, midi?) I think this would work, however i have tried alot of apps and find them too complicated and hard to learn and eventually lead to something i dont want,,, does this explain what i am looking for? Not sure where to go...

Re: thanks to all , and..... (ins)

SonicFoundry Acid (Pro). You can use your midi, record, use effects, etc. The most significant feature of Acid is that it will match the tempo of audio samples with song tempo. It is the most intuitive music app I have ever used. Comes with SoundForge XP, a sample editor.

Re: Making Electronic Music

hi, my advice.

it depends on what music you prefer and what exactly you want to make!

I never study music, I dont know notes etc...

But I started 4 years ago with "Rebirth" software.
emulator 303 synth and drum machine.

In the beggining I didnt understand anything in tha programm, but I used the Demo songs in order to understand how this thing works. and finally I did it!!!

after that most programms emulators, are quite similar and I find it easy to play and make electronic music.

I hope that helps.

Re: Making Electronic Music

You could start by reading through some of the articles on this site. << This is what its all about >>

computer base home recording studio

looking for some excellent software products to start my home base recording studio, sound card ,etc. I also heard digital samplers, effects processors, are better than analog ones. any info is greatly apperciated. thank you

Re: computer base home recording studio

Tons & tons of excellent products to make music on the computer ... if you're into loops (like your name suggests), try Sonic Foundry's ACID Pro - lets you bang in loops which will be time stretched to fit your piece - not so difficult to get into ... if you're not looking to record more than 2 audio sources (microphones, geetars, etc.) at one time, you could look at Creative Lab's soundblaster, a real musicians favourite ... but most simple soundcards will do the job ... if you're into audio, look at buying a small mixing desk which will bring your sound source up to line level .... check these sites - www.pc-music.com www.computermusic.co.uk

thanks trogs.. sorry for the delayed reply...

formats for teaching resources

I am trying to work out the best way of providing aural comprehension resources online for music teachers - the resources need to be in particular formats to fit examination requirements - any sequencing program can be used to prepare the file, but what is the best way to make them accessible - as files that teachers can download and edit themselves or just use in an audio format?

ideas please!!

Converting m3u files to mp3

Is there anyone who knows how to change m3u files to mp3? I am new at this and I have been trying to find any freeware available that can do this. Can anyone help me please? Thank you... :)

Yes there is a way...You hook up a cassette tape deck to your PC speaker outlet and play/record the .m3u song (file) to the cassette. The recorded music on the tape is now in the.wav format. You now connect the tape deck to your PC
inlet and play the .wav (music) through your PC.
using MUSICMATCH 6.1 BASIC (from www.musicmatch.
com) to record and convert the .wav music to .mp3. This player is FREE and will convert your .wav music to .mp3 as it records from your cassette tape. A FREEBIE all the way around. Easy
to install and easy to use.If, you donot have a tape/play/recorder, check out Radio Shack, in your area. They handle OPTIMUS,Model SCT 86, STEREO CASSETTE TAPE DECK for around $60.00 cost. They are pretty informative and can help in the selection of any connection cables you may need.
Hope this info helps...ENJOY...

Re: Converting m3u files to mp3

Why not just play the m3u if you are going to do all of that. Just play the m3u and record it onto your hard drive. do a search on this site for audio recorders. Also try Awave.

I've not yet tried it But i'm optimistic it'll work

Re: Converting m3u files to mp3

What you need to do is save the m3u file (in IE, right click the link and select save as...) and place it on your desktop (we won't need it long).

Next, open the m3u file in Winamp. Look at the playlist editor (the little window that shows which songs you have queued up to play) and right click the song that you want to download. Select "File Info" from the flyout menu, this will open the "Mp3 Stream Info Box". At the top, you will see the url that the m3u is using to stream the mp3. Simply select all of the text in this window and copy it to your clipboard.

Now, make a REALLY basic html page and create a link to your mp3. Open the page you have created, and right click the link and select "Save Target As..." and you are done. You now have the original mp3.

If you don't know HTML, here is all the code you will need (remove the before copying, and past to a text doc. Name this document anything.htm.

Re: Converting m3u files to mp3

m3u files list the location of the MP3 files. They don't contain the MP3s. More info <a href="http://www.mp3machine.com/news/628/">here</a>

Re: Converting m3u files to mp3

Hi

This cannot be done as an M3U file is a simple text file with links to mp3 files. You cannot convert a text file to an mp3 file.

When an m3u is loaded, media player will load the files which are contained in the file.

This method is usually implimented when the source does not want their music to be saved to another computer.

lock-up problems with Logic Audio

I've just installed an old version of Gina hard disks recording. I'm running it with logic 4.7.3 on a desktop G3. Everything loads OK, and records, but after about 3-4 mins the screen locks up..the midi section of the song will keep playing, but not audio. can anyone help please. Mike

Re: lock-up problems with Logic Audio

Check the audio synchronisation settings in the synchronisation preferences. The audio sync should be set to "MTC continuous"

Also, do you have the latest version driver for gina?

Problems with Cakewalk HS 9.01 under WinMe

Hi.

I've just purchased and installed Cakewalk Home Studio 9.01 on my Windows Me system and I have a problem.

When its first run Windows detects new hardware, however it doesnt have a clue what it is nor can I seem to find out. Regardless of if I cancel this or let it put and unknown device in device manager nothing else seems to happen (but a quick CTRL+ALT+DEL reveals its hung). any attempt to reboot the PC at this point will result in a lockup prio to the desktop appearing until I boot in safe mode and uninstall.

I've tried installing the patch immediately after installing the main product but this didnt make any difference. just in case it matters my card is a Creative PCI 128 (ensoniq) running the latest drivers.

Thanks

Ash

Re: Problems with Cakewalk HS 9.01 under WinMe

Sequencer

As a beginner to music production, could anyone recommend a computer set up ,that would sequence my work. At present I'm playing a drum machine, sampler and keyboard on their own.

How can I create a real audio file

Does anybody know how, or by using what software, I cna convert an MP3 or a wav file into a Real Audio file (RA, RAM)

Re: How can I create a real audio file

You need <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/RealProducer_Basic/">this</a>! Read <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/news/9904_106/">this</a> too!

: Does anybody know how, or by using what software, I cna convert an MP3 or a wav file into a Real Audio file (RA, RAM)

Compatible sequencing and system exclusive program.

I have an old Kawai Q-80 sequencer which I in previous years used with a Roland U-20.I would like to know if there is a music software based program that could read and sequence the information back exactly ( sequences and system exclusive data )from the old floppies of the Kawai Q-80. Currently I use Sonar by Cakewalk on a Compaq Presario 1215US 1Gig. laptop if this will help. I would like to use my floppy drive in my laptop to read my old floppies of the Q-80. Can this be done? Help, Tony M.

MPC60 groove templates for Logic???

If anyone know where to get MPC60 groove templates for Logic Audio, please let me know. DP has it built-in which is very cool. I just wish Logic had it as well. Thanks.
