SONY THE ONLY WORD

: Hi Guys !!! Can anyone tell me how do i connect my TV/VCR to my Desktop and also do some recording. I have a idea that i need a special card for it. Can anyone explain me how this work & which card is the best !!! Thanxs in advance

easy connecting a tv/VCR is simple. you'll need a tuner card or just buy and sony RZ computers. All them have the tuner card and much more then you expect. okay think thats enough any more info just email me. simple as 123...

Re: Connecting VCR/TV to my Desktop

How do you record rrom a pc to a vcr?

Re: Connecting VCR/TV to my Desktop

Depending on which direction you want to record would determine what you need. If you just want your desktop to appear on your TV & VCR you really don't need much more than a video card with a s-video cable option. This alows your computor's video signal to be on both your monitor and TV at the same time or just one if desired. But if you want to record TV or VCR video to your computor you'll need a TV tuner card. One other thing I might mention to save you some grief. For recording DVD to your VCR you'll need a video signal conditioner otherwise the recordings look like crap. You can get one for under $50.

Re: Connecting VCR/TV to my Desktop

You simply need a tv-tuner card. Avermedia is the best price/performance ratio for basic works but need specials like digital-tv or satellite systems you may need to look at pinnacle systems for professional cards that can bring the digital-tv systems into pc's monitor. great work

Re: Connecting VCR/TV to my Desktop

I believe you'd need some sort of video capture card. You could possibly get a TV tuner card to tune into the TV on your PC! I looked at doing this so that I could get into a bit of underground TV sampling and put my sounds over it. But I found that I needed a massive upgrade on my system. I needed a gigahertz processor, a minimum of 40gig hard drive, loads of RAM, the video card, a decent software package and a CD Burner just to get started! Sorry if I haven't answered your question well. I'm just trying to explain how it'll cost you a packet!

MIDI Ports - USB Sport or Sound Card Interface

Why would I spend money on a USB MIDI Sport for MIDI ports when I already have a sound card with these ports via. the game port. Can anyone explain the Pros and Cons. I know very little about MIDI so any feed back would be appreciated.

Dedicated...

There isn't much of a reason really other than the Joystick port was originally a work around that went on and on. One thing to note is USB is quite fast for this sort of data transmission and it allows for many more ins and outs than a joystick port.

If it works for you at the moment then stick with it until you need more ins/outs..

Midi syncing with audio in cakewalk

It seems that sometimes my midi drumtracks get out of alignment with the audio during playback, what could be causing that? I am using the midi that comes with the cakewalk and they are synced up sometimes. I don't have other programs running, so it isn't a RAM problem, is it?

Re: Midi syncing with audio in cakewalk

The problem is probably with your clock and sync settings. In the Tools/Project Options/Clock-tab window be sure "Audio" is chosen in the Source section. In the Tools/Audio/Advanced-tab window, look at the bottom and make sure you have chosen Full Chase Lock. Those setting should keep your audio and midi in sync.

P.S. You'll have to check those settings at least the first time for each Cakewalk project you open.

Re: Midi syncing with audio in cakewalk

I tried what you said as well and my metronome is still off and I can hear it behind the audio tempo then it races up faster so I know it's off.

I need an answer back

Re: Music Software

No chance, buddy. Too many instruments to work out. Either get a MIDI file and use software to create a score from the MIDI OR buy the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/sheetmusic/">sheet music</a>.

sound card input won't work

I'm trying to convertlps to mp3 or wav and I can't get my sound card to recognize the input or mic jack. is there a switch or command I need to activate to get it to work?

Re: sound card input won't work

Sure you have to get a RIAA compatible pre-amp between turntable and sound card, also you need to use line-in for this type. but you can check your turntable with simply mic-in and try to open it from sound volume (remember to check the +20dB boost in mic properties if available). Or forget all and get Steinberg's Clean! software for it. it comes with a pre-amp for the system and useful easy-to-use audio-restoration software.

Re: sound card input won't work

First, check that the line in isn't muted.

Second, and more important, are you trying to connect the record deck direct to the sound card? If so, then it's unlikely you'll get anything anyway, since the output from the record deck isn't high enought, and the tonal balance will be wrong. Unless the record deck has a built-in RIAA pre-amp, you'll need to connect the deck to an amplifier and feed the output from that (either the tape out or the headphone out) to the soundcard. Just remember to keep the volume low when you start.

burning cd-rom to rw

I just recently purchased a sony burner w/music match jukebox as the software. I don't know if you can burn straight from cd-rom to cd-rw. Can someone help?

Re: burning cd-rom to rw

You can use "Nero Burning Rom" for it, if you have another cd-rom drive you'r lucky just copy CD's on the fly (mean write while reading) but if only a cd-rw connected to computer, it first reads your CD then make an image file of it, then tell you to insert empty cd-r or cd-rw.

Re: burning cd-rom to rw

Direct copying from CD-ROM to CD-RW isn't a problem as long as the software will do it. CD-ROMs can read data much faster than the CD-RW can write it, so there's no problem feeding data. I know that Easy CD Creator can do it, but I'm not familiar with Jukebox.

ACCESS_VIRUS2003@YAHOO.COM

HERES A LINK TO A PLACE WERE YOU CAN BUY A POWER SUPPLY FOR THE SECK 1882 MIXER

http://www.gbaudio.co.uk/data/seck.htm

I HEARD THEY KOST LIKE AROUND 200EUROS
GOOD LUCK

Re: Seck Power supply

GB audio in edinburgh supply them. Their website is www.gbaudio.co.uk

Any decent regulated power supply..

You need to read the spec's for the desk and work out what sort of voltage AND current requirements the desk requires (maybe on the back, on a plate or plaque). If it's just a simple mains transformer, then you could buy almost any 'regulated' power supply that matches the voltage requirements and exceeds the current requirements of the desk,

Some desk PSU's have more than one winding though so if you PSU input on the desk has more than a live/earth/neutral line, then you may have to find out more about the power requirements of the desk and/or the original power supply.

Visiosonic PCDJ

Does anyone use Visiosonic PCDJ. I'm looking for some type of plugin that has light effects that beats to the music. Similar to G-force for the Winamp player?

midi input to wave output

Is there a midi player that receives midi input and outputs as wave files. Any help appreciated. Interested in a software tone generator.

Re: midi input to wave output

If you for example play using a midi device and send it through a program like cubase and then have that track output to a vst instrument you can save the output to a wave file. You will need a sequncer and a full duplex soundcard. I think.

Re: midi input to wave output

Wingroove Registered Version can output MIDI to wave using any installed MIDI device for playback, besides its own soft synth. Two drawbacks: 1 - slow (only realtime when using the soundcard's own synth); 2 - no batch deflash support (can record only one file at a time).

Need good CD burning software

Is there something good on th market which will allow multi session burning that doesn't cost an arm and a leg! I know Easy CD Creator 5 is going for around 70 bucks is there anything cheaper?

Re: Need good CD burning software

have had nothing but problems with easy cd creator

Re: Need good CD burning software

"Nero Burning Rom" is the best recording software ever made by humans. You can do anything with it and version5.5 really rocks, and bets all other. Multiple Recorder support, Svcd Support, Vcd Support, Mp3>Cda, Virus Checking, ISo&Juliet Formats, Multi-Session Recording, Overburn etc etc.. Great

Re: Need good CD burning software

I don't know what Bryan is talking about but you'll find the following programs of interest to you:

<a href="/smm/programs/CDRecordingStudio/">CD Recording Studio 2.0</a> for Windows 95/98/2000/NT (US $19.95)

<a href="/smm/programs/DartCDRecorder/">DART CD-Recorder 4.1.7</a> for Windows 95/98/2000/NT/ME (US $49.95)

<a href="/smm/programs/CDRWIN/">CDRWin 4.0a</a> for Windows 95/98/NT/2000 (US $39)

Hey Mick. Visiosonic has a great PCDJ software. I don't think that your going to find just one program that will turn your PC into a mixer. The software that I've sampled just doesn't compare to the real deal. Anyways here is there link http://www.pcdj.com/

No playback sound from Audio Logic (Mac) HELP!!!

When recording from my software synth (Reason 1.0),

What am I doing wrong?

I've got a Mac G4 running 9.2.1

Casio midi problem

I got an old casio ht-3000 keyboard. I tried to connect
it to my computer via midi, but it does not send any
information to my cakewalk pro audio or any other
software that supports midi. I guess there is some
trick I shoul do to make it activate the midi function.
I don't have the original user's manual so that is not
going to help...
thanx..

mp3 cutting

Is there any software that will allow me to cut the beginning off an mp3, like if there is a bunch of talking or silence ?

Re: mp3 cutting

You have to look for "mp3 trimming software" about cutting from beginning, ending. But need professional solution Steinberg's WaveLab is a great software for it, and it's lightning speed also in real-time..
