Musicmatch mmjb.exe error

I have installed musicmatch jukebox deluxe 6.0 on my computer and whenever i try to start it it says mmjb.exe has generated errors and will close. I know this is the executable part for the program but it does not seem to be in conflict with anything else. Would anyone know the most common places where this may be resolved or have had a similar problem?

Re: Musicmatch mmjb.exe error

Did anyone get a solution for this?? I'm freaking out and getting very frustrated. Please help!!!!

It is funny you all have bugs....I DO TOO! MMJB SUCKS. I have 9.0 and have the same problems....when are they gonna fix this piece of crap software???!

Re: Musicmatch mmjb.exe error

I have a similar problem: Installing original software meanwhile causes my computer to shut-down, re-installing ver 7.5 from the internet now reports the mmjb.exe-error. I'm using WIN 2000 and I also would apprieciate some help.

Re: Musicmatch mmjb.exe error

i had this problem with mmjb vers 7.0 and also 5!!!
solved it by working out what i had installed since it stopped working. as it turned out (i am running win2kpro), i had installed a prog which had install a .dll called wnaspi32.dll in winnt\system32. i moved this dll and it solved the prob. mmjb is a buggy prog, and no doubt there are MANY other things that can cause this, and or similar errors. i think the dll has the same name 4 win9x, so give that a try,(if u r still checking this thread???)
good luck. post a reply if it helps?

USING JUNO 106 AS A MIDI CONTROLLER?

Any ideas on using the Juno 106's sliders as a midi controller in Cubase (Mac) for both audio/midi mixing and /or controlling a JV1080?
Appreciate your thoughts.

Re: USING JUNO 106 AS A MIDI CONTROLLER?

The first band I ever played in sported a keyboard player friend with a 106. Still love a couple of those synth strings.. ! I think they are still worth a decent amount of money as well.. Look after it..

As far as your question, there is a chance that those sliders send out midi controller information but you would have to find some original documentation on the keyboard to find out if it's so and what the controller numbers are.

I don't really do a lot of controller stuff so i'm not the best person to ask but I would point you towards a decent synth/electronica site that has tons of decent links to dedicated websites. Some there will help i'm sure.

separating tracks into an audio mix cd

Hi all,
I want to burn 1-hour mp3 mixes into audio cds, but I would like to include track separations, so that you can go from one song to another, even though there is only one file being burned. Is there a program that allows to do this. so far the only thing I can do is separate the 1-hour mp3 into smaller files, but when I burn it the program includes a silence gap that completely messes up the flow. Thanks for your help.

Re: separating tracks into an audio mix cd

Try a software named - CD Wave - it should work.
Convert your mp3 file to wave then split it into different tracks.

just getting started recording cds what software do i need to record my cassetts and old albums

Jazz Chart Mac Software -Transpose and print?

Greetings,

I am searching for a jazz chart software for Mac with numerous titles for transposing and printing, and if possible, the ability for the software to recognize and chart out digital music files.

Is there such a thing?

Thanks.

Search for AUDIO to MIDI, WAVE to MIDI, AIFF to MIDI, SOUND to M

I have tried about 6 programs designed to do that, all of them written for Windows pc. None of them really worked well enough to save time.

However, I don't know how well the audio to MIDI converters are on Mac systems. Maybe they are better. I did once get to use a hardware pitch to MIDI converter at a college once. It was basically a microphone and a box. It successfully converted my singing into MIDI data which was routed to a sound module. It worked just like it should have. I've never found a software program that could do that without lots of expert tweaking.

Some MIDI guitar pickups have a line/mic input, so you could possibly rent or buy or borrow one of those. I bet it's a lot better than software.

Good luck.

HELP I need the manual and installation files

I lost all of my software and accompanying literature, then had a computer crash some months later wiping out all installed files....I can get the driver from midiman, but can't find anything else. Can anyone help me??
jimijames@t-online.de

Huh?

You lost all your software AND the manuals at the same time? Then your computers HD crashed and lost EVERYTHING? Then you couldn't get the drivers from Midiman (For What though?? drivers for WhAt??) and then you couldn't find anything else? Can we help?? HOW??? HOW CAN WE HELP YOU. Do you want use to give you all our software? what software specifically? Can you be any less specific? Nobody gives software away here.

If you want some then go and download some shareware and freeware from this sites download area. If you want to download commercial replacements then do so at your own risk. One thing is for sure, that old Lost My Software and Lost My Manual is getting on my tits here. If you lost something then remember to back it up next time. If you lost a manual then contact the manufacturer, show them proof of purchase and by another one from them.... It's all simple stuff

Yet another lame alibi

Words of advise: no one believes these hopeless stories.

Got my 4 track demo almost finished, now what ?

After a few years of tinkering with firstly fastracker, now modplug tracker, i have quite a few tunes and fragments to play with. So now i've been focusing on production and arrangement, which has been in some ways a lot more difficult to learn and do than coming up with the tunes. Anyways, I feel its time to give them a chance by sending the 4 track demo to future music. The questions are: has anyone else on this site done this? was it a good / bad idea and why? where else should i be directing this demo to (they are mostly dancny bouncy tracks)?
Any advice would be much appreciated and eagerly awaiting a response.

Re: Got my 4 track demo almost finished, now what ?

Not a bad idea. It can't hurt to get some frank advice.

The only thing that would concern me is I doubt there is a single space left in the current electronic dance music library that hasn't been tried over and over and over again. If I sent something to a musc magazine, I would make sure that it's the best and most inspiring bit of music I could come up with.

Most of the dance music I hear on the radio and in pubs and clubs sound like tunes being made up to ten years ago and more. I'm sick of it and I suspect those future music judges are too... ;)))

Good luck though

Re: Got my 4 track demo almost finished, now what ?

I agree with Steve. Big ups.

Re: Got my 4 track demo almost finished, now what ?

Just make sure you can handle the criticism if you get any. Indeed, it can be pretty hard to get a review given the enormous amounts of submissions they would get for every issue.

I could be wrong though.

Still, don't limit yourself to the print magazines. There are quite a number of high-traffic sites that review music. I'd check them out as well as the music magazines.

How do you mean??

You downloaded an Operating System and installed it. Where did you download it from???

Operating systems are delicate objects and are hardly going to be reliable if downloaded...

MIDI Sample Player !! HELP!!

Hi,

I need a sample player which is MIDI controllable.
Ramm Drumm is perfect for that, but since I want to use it on my notebook, which is only capable of displaying 640x480 pixels, I can´t use it, because it need 800x600 resolution.
Does anone know another sample player which can be triggered by a MIDI device which runs on 640x480 and doesn´t need much CPU power?

Thanks a lot,
Regards,
Flynn

Improve Sampling Input Quality..Help!!

1421.1

Hey! I'm an Egyptian/Scot in Cairo, more than a little obsessed with all things sonic and in need a touch of help! FM/CM etc have mostly proven useless(although a huge thanku to DJFreekBoy for being the only one out of a handful of queries on a handful of sites to offer actual relevant comments! Kudos to you, if you see this!
I have a laptop 850,10 gigs, the usual nondescript soundcard and some software namely Acid Pro3, CoolEditPro, Fruity Loops3 + some odds and ends. My problem is this....I could probably manage everything I'm interested in at the moment with this set up 'cept....I depend on my own samples, have no hardware to speak of and absolutely cannot afford any more(specially not here as your 200 quid makes for three months salary!)

So... how do I maximise quality and volume of signal from a little stereo mic(came with a walkman) and/or line in from crap sources eg a walkman recording using said mic?

Would my Tascam PortaStudio 414(tape-based 4-track) help? Amp? Pre-amp? How?
USB?(I'd rather not unless a really cheap limited one input kind of thing is available)

That's pretty much it! *Any* help would be much appreciated and if anyone feels like being extra nice feel free to email me!

nadim_rafik@hotmail.com

Thanks in advance!

Re: Improve Sampling Input Quality..Help!!

Actually, as of this writing, I have no money either. But that's not a good enough reason not to keep making music. You seem to know this too. Maybe there are some friends of yours who you could join forces with and share ideas and sounds and equipment. That way, you could get at some better tools. If it works out, just make sure you save some of your own recordings. When the collaboration ends, you'll still have some positive results to work with.

I used to record straight onto cassettes from a 25 dollar mixer. Eventually, I got another mixer just like it, so I could experiment with other configurations or use the bass/treble controls better.

I still sometimes record through old used home stereo recievers. At pawn shops in the U.S., they can be bought for as little as 15-30 dollars, maybe less now. I'm talking about the kind of recievers made in the late seventies or early eighties--not anything collectable.

These old recievers are great because they have a nice analog sound, bass and treble controls, a loudness (EQ) button, and plenty of outputs.
Usually I would connect to the headphones output of the receiver, because the headphones output has a built-in high pass filter on most systems. This helps keep the signal amplitude not too high or bassy.

Sometimes it's fun to use lots of adapters and cables to rig up unusual things. Even VCR's sometimes can be fun to mess with since they can record audio.

If you do have access to a mixer, that will certainly be useful. Just keep playing around with it.

It's not what you have, but how you use it.

Money...

What I would do is buy an audio card if the laptop has a PCMCIA card slot (USB otherwise, possibly) and then buy a decent mic for the job you want it for.

I understand you don't have the money because of the difference in pay with the Uk but it's hard to gain a lot more quality out of tools that weren't necessarily made to be high in audio quality.

I would recommend that you obtain the above parts in the same way you managed to procure your laptop as I suspect that wasn't cheap.. ;0-

Re: Money...

The laptop was (excuse me while I shout) NOT CHEAP!! Unfortunately that is easier to justify buying than equipment for a "hobby"! Apart from which...if I hadn't bought the laptop I could easily manage some nice hardware...Hammefall DSP for instance sounds tasty!:
Another thing...Egypt is a great place to put together desktops for Peanuts....Great!! But laptops.....utterly hopeless...few of the usual Egyptian savings apply and add-ons, expansions, peripherals are not around...Egypt is a land of extremes..all or nothing!!

What I am looking for is compromise! Nothing's going to stop me making music but....I like my little samples! Also, mixing my guitar and percussion with the comp based stuff could benefit from some cleanliness!
What can I say!
Lo-Fi and DIY is what I'm most used to (including using VCRs for sound recording and a memorable attempt at putting video on audio cassette!!) Singing into 3LE(about 50p) earphones(yes, I do mean earphones)..etc. is a big part of my background but...finally a little less hiss? Please!!!

Thank you for the replies and advice! More is always welcome!!
Nadim
