Locutus

I'm trying to make a promotional video for a camp. There is this awsome testamoney I would like to put into the video - but it was recorded outside and the sound is competing with a corus of locutus is there a way to split the track to get rid of the locutus?

Not really...

The thing to do would be to isolate a locust's sound and see what area of the audio spectrum it uses. You could do this with a Spectrum Analyser.

If you lucky, you may get away with bandpassing that frequency which may reduce the sound of the locusts. I doubt you will rid yourself of it completely, or even enough to make it worth while. That's what I would do..

Well that's got to be one of the wierdest questions ever asked but then again maybe not. Don't locust share the same spectrum as Britney Spears? Very similar if I'm not mistaken. Go to your Windows folder and press Delete. Then reinstall using FDisk etc. As Steve says (he he). Well that's just sarcasmn but what are you gonna do?

Britney...

hehe...Nice to look at, not to listen to..

CD playback problems

I have burned 4 CDs using both aiff and mp3
encoding (from iTunes on my iMac), and the CDs
play on 3 players (so I know they've been burned), but they aren't read on 4 other players I've tried. I know these other players can read CD-Rs, because they play CDs burned on other equipment.

Any ideas why the CD-Rs are recognized by some players and not others or why certain players can read some CD-Rs and not others?

Two things...

One: Change your brand of CD
Two: Audio CD's are better for audio so buy them if you can and try and find out (I read it somewhere) which CD's (recording side) colour is better for audio. I think it was gold that had more success. I just can't remember.

The more time moves on, the less this problem will occur. Older CD mechanisms (and cheap ones) have low quality lasers and are often not beefy enough to read anything but pressed CD's.

#please help - Any softwarecan cope with 3/4 time or swung rhyth

does anyone out there know of any software that could help me?

beat limiting

Tuareg (for Windows) has a swing function which can be set by percent. Of course, I always talk about Tuareg. In general, I'd say that you should either manually edit your audio down to 3/4 loops, or do everything in a MIDI notation program that can handle 3/4.

Well, Tuareg does have a swing function, though. I know that Rebirth 338 and other similar products have loops that can be set to any number up to 16 or 32. I'll bet Reason has that fuctionality. Also, you can modify the pitch/duration of any sample by specifying in bars or percent. That way, you can cut down an 8/4 or 8/8 or 4/4 sample down to it's 6/8 3/8 3/4 equivalent.

Nevertheless, I feel for you. Most sequencers are designed for north american pop music and nothing more. That's another good reason to keep using dedicated external drum machines and full MIDI sequencing.

Where to find end credits tune to "flight of the navigator?"

Where can I buy a copy or download it anywhere?

Re: Where to find end credits tune to "flight of the navigator?"

: Where can I buy a copy or download it anywhere?

I'm pretty sure that one is out of print, but if you know the name of the song, or the artist, or both, you can most likely download it off the Internet. I'd recommend downloading Morpheus or Kaaza (they're both kind of like Napster) to find the song on MP3 format. I have Kaaza, and you can download that at www.kazaa.com and Morpheus is at www.musiccity.com. If you want a really good player that supports MP3 format, I'd recommend downloading Realjukebox or Realplayer at www.real.com. They're all free downloads if you get the basic players, the ones with more options cost money. I love that movie, too bad it's out of print. Good luck, hope this helps.

mono audio (speech) recording from analog to digital with max co

We r interested in recording audio from a casette which is mostly just speech into a mono(NOT STEREO) digital format with max compression. We are interested in a recording of 60 minutes to not have a file size of more than 5 MB. The recorded file format may be either mp3 or wma.

Possible..

You need to connect the cassette deck to the computer first. This should be easy so I wont insult your intelligence.

Mp3 is roughly 1 meg per-minute in stereo so in this case you would get 10 mins mono for your 5meg file compressing at 128kbps. The way to shrink that is to compress with a lower bit rate. Don't expect much quality at 24kbps but the voice (providing the original is decent quality to start with) should be ledgible (sp).

How small the file would be at that bit rate I am unsure so you will have to try it. If you get very very close but not close enough, you may have to resort to editing the voice and taking out the gaps where the voice is not active in order to shorted the file..

Mp3 has the best compression ration for audio I know...

All the software will be on this site. Audio recording and editing and of course, an Mp3 compression utility..

Re: karaoke

: What burner are you using, and how are you burning your disk (using bin files or complete images)?

I am using a Sony Spressa External Drive, and the program I am using is Adaptec's Easy CD Creator - CD Copier program. I don't know how it copies the file.

It has complete instructions on how to rip, burn, and back up your karaoke CD's. EZ CD is not the program you want to use for this pourpose.

Re: Rocordingsoftware needed

Ebn,

Samplitude is an awesome program for digital multi-track recording. The current demo version of Samp2496 dose not allow you to record more than 60 seconds, but I have a copy of the older one that I could send you. You can access all the features with it. Direct X sound plug ins non-linear editing. It's really a nice piece.

Jammer is a good program for MIDI, and song development that you may want to look into

Harmony is a sweat share ware score/MIDI editor.

Enjoy,

Gecko

HELP - I want CRACKED RTAS PLUGINS! - mac

[The body of this post has been lost]

Re: HELP - I want CRACKED RTAS PLUGINS! - mac

Peter,

What makes you think this is a crack forum? where does it say cracks and serial requests welcome here?

People abuse this forum constantly with these sorts of requests. Leaving your email address after a request like yours is sheer stupidity.

SteveR

Re: HELP - I want CRACKED RTAS PLUGINS! - mac

SteveR,

I'd save your breath. It's obvious these people can't read, or are just plain dumb (or probably both).

If we ignore them, they might go away.
