Re: vs 880ex

I have a Roland VS-880EX and I need an instruction manual. Please e-mail me the manual.

Re: vs 880ex

What are the specific symptoms?

It's worth going to the Roland site and upgrading the operating system to the newest just incase their is some corruption there. If the CD burner has packed up as well as the audio tracks, their might be a hardware addressing fault. It could also be the software.

All the bits you need to upgrade the OS are on the Roland site. I looked some time ago and they were all their. Midi required I think..

Scoring software

I write music for live theater, and I tried that new InTime Tempo Tracking system that was in the new releases. If you do any kind of scoring, you should check it out, it lets you write around dialogue and action, instead of milliseconds.

Mp3 CD's can only be played by CD players that are made for the Mp3 audio platform. They simply wont play in nearly all CD players.

Software 3-way crossover for 5.1

Does anyone know of a software package or software / hardware combination I could use on a PC that would allow me to create a 3-way crossover for the front three channels of a 5.1 system without introducing any delay?

I'd like to use this in a home theater setup where the front 3 speakers are tri-amped, so delay would cause lip-synching while watching TV/DVDs through the PC. DSP filters would be nice (and room correction would be outstanding) but I don't need anything else.

Thanks in advance.

I don't really know the answer to this but I did hang out with the Dolby engineers in San Francisco a week or so ago and they have some pretty stunning software for 5:1 from 2:1....

audiophile sound interface??

I'm looking for a different sound interface for my computer.....The first three I tried were disappointing; including the Soundblaster Live Platinum [too noisy.] I'm considering the M Audio Audiophile card, and also the new Aardvark usb-3 interface. Any opinions??

Re: audiophile sound interface??

The audiophile is a very good card by all accounts. As far as I can see, it's main competitor is the Echo Mia...

Recommended settings for Recording Audio from a TV???

Okay, I've been trying to find the perfect settings for recording audio off TV with Total Recorder. I've got the wire hooked up right and everything, but I'm having trouble getting a clear, quality recording. The TV only has mono sound if that helps any. I figured that that may be the reason why my recordings are so static-y. Even when the TV volume is on 0, both channel displays are already up to the red regions, and I end up with all that static in the background, although the sound I meant to capture is still pretty coherent. Does anyone know what I can do to eliminate this static?

Re: Recommended settings for Recording Audio from a TV???

I suspect it depends on the TV. The output and whether it is a fixed line level or available to adjustment from the main TV volume control. By rights, it should be a fixed line level therefore the quality should be okay.

To get a decent answer, you will have to tell us more about the cable link from the TV to the computer. Soundcard input and all. It could be that you have a mono minijack connected to a stereo minijack input on the soundcard.. Not necessarily good news...

Static is a confusing term and means nothing to a sound person. Crackles and pops is better, hum is another, distortion.. etc.. they all mean different things...

The fact that the line level is coming into the computer in the Red suggests you have the card selected as a mic or something and the card is over amplifiying. I am not familiar with the Windows mixer as I am a Mac user. It must be something simple... Long cable, cheap cable, wrong connectors, wrong input settings... too many guesses

disc at once - freeshare.

hi,

I'm looking for any CDR mastering program to write without silent btw the tracks (disc at once)-freeshare.
other than Acoustica Cdburner.

THX.

Re: disc at once - freeshare.

Nero, is very popular,it is bundle together with many DVD or CDRW drives available at retail stores, I like better CD creator but is not free, worth the money if you ask me, they both have the "Disc at once" feature, Music Match mp3 player is a good basic burner/player/ripper etc,(if you can get it to work with your gear),"basic" available as download, has CDR burning capalities but no DAO,not as good as the others IMO,but maybe you want to try it.

Prices

I don't know weather your giving your stuff away free or what because on any of your sites, either you can't get into your pricing page, or you just do not post pricing so your spending a lot on web pages that are not getting you any new business. I am looking for pricing on song lists, but cannot get there from here.
I will go elsewhere.

Re: Prices

I don't think these guys sell song lists. They do sell sheetmusic though.

missing file

After downloading Mobsoft and trying to access it off of my desktop,it informs me-"System error. one of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found." Please e-mail me a solution or a refund.Thank you.

Mobsoft Mp3toWav is freeware which means you can't
have paid for it - that's the only Mobsoft
program listed on this site.

For technical support you would need to contact
Mobsoft at info@mobsoft.net

They have another program which you might have
paid for called Mp3 Magic.

In either case you will have to contact Mobsoft.

I hope this helps,
Jason.

Adding track numbers to a long track

do you now any free program that will let me add some tracks number to divide a long live set.
Or should I cut my long track into small tracks (using MP3 butcher for ex.) and then burn the CD w/out silence btw the tracks?
Which program (beside Acoustica CD burner)let me burn without silence btw the tracks? Free?

Thanks a lot.

Re: Adding track numbers to a long track

I use a program called CDWAVE, Shareware downloaded from here a while back, after you split your long wave file burn it using the "disc at once" option to eliminates the 2 second gap and keep your new track flags. Maybe there is a better program out there, I don't know, but this one works.

CDwave does not burn cd

CDwave is perfect to split a long wave file, but it does alowed to burn a CD...so I'm still looking for a program taht let me burn 'disc at one'...any idear?
THX.

Re: CDwave does not burn cd

Moon you split the file with Cd wave ,save it, then use Nero or CD creator they both have "Disc at once" feature, drag and drop and rename split tracks, I don't know of any "all in one" software.

Software to Compose from recording? Can I ?

I am extremely new to composition software and was wondering if there was any that would take the music I play, and distinguish the notes to write out the score? Either by recording through a microphone, or by a midi instrument, which I don't have yet, but would purchase if this were feasable? Thanks, Trish

Re: Software to Compose from recording? Can I ?

Take a look around in the notation section of this site. You're sure to find something there.

my burner

my burner will only burn rewriteable cd's. it will burn about 5 percent of the recordable cd's and says error evertime, what is the problem.

Re: my burner

General Answer, but need more information from you for specific answers: Slow down your recording speed, from 8x to 4 x as it might be a buffer problem (very common).

Now what operating system? version?
Brand of CD R/W is installed in your machine?
Software, used to record/burn? version?

With the above information there are many excellent advisors that answer questions on this board and can assist you with specific programs or hardware problems if they have more information. Is this a new problem?

How to upgrade your RAM / prevent crashes

The first step to upgrading your computer memory RAM is to find the make and model of your computer or motherboard, and go to http://www.computer-memory-upgrade-stick.com/. The Memory Selector will tell you the exact upgrades that will work on your system. The manufacturer is Crucial, a well known and respected company. I've been happy with the 512 megs of RAM I bought from them, and they guarantee their upgrades.

good music looping programs

[The body of this post has been reconstituted from replies so it may differ from what was originally written.]

well, sometimes I have nobody to jam with. In fact, thats the case most of the time, so I was wondering if there was a popular music program that allows you to creat a looped track to jam with. A free program would work best since I'm poor, I tried looking for a cracked or haked cakewalk, but came to no prevail. So yea, e-mail me, it would be good.

Re: good music looping programs

No one appreciates crack requests around here. I thought I'd mention it. Anyway, if you're just looking for a program to play a loop, you can do that with ACID Xpress.
