need advice: i want to connect a keyboard to make melodies over

Hi all,
I own a pc with W98 + Guillemot ISIS sound card + mike. I regularly record the chord structure of my songs using CEPro.

I want to plug a keyboard into the computer to create and then record melodies over the guitar tracks in CEPro.

My question is what is a good basic keyboard that will do this job and how should I connect it via the ISIS box. Should I be looking for a MIDI keyboard?

If anyone has done the same and has advice I would really appreciate it as I am totally unknown at this. I will have no probs mixing the sound when it's in CEPro as I have recorded multi-tracks before. It's the keyboard and connecting it I have no idea about.

Pc files and mac on encore4.2.1

Can anyone tell me how to open files saved on pc into Mac, using encore4.2.1 music notation software? I got the same program installed on both I don't understand why can't be opened on Mac.
