What is the best MP3 Encoder out there?

Looking for recommendations on what is the best MP3 Encoder that I can use with AudioGrabber. It came with the Lame Encoder 3.93.1 which seems to be decent but was wondering if there isn't a better one.

I am looking for the cleanest sound and fast encoding.

Any input is greatly appreciated,

There are faster ones, but overall you have the best.

Re: Get Fraunhoffer MP31enc

Find me on KaZaA and download the MP31enc by fraunhoffer. Its the best encoder in the world and at $200 it should be!

Connect stereo to computer for listening and recording

I have this old Aptiva, IBM computer which uses the Crystal Audio 4235-KQ on motherbord sound card, Software DART 32 Digital CD studio II and an old stereo with 8-OHM RCA and Headphone jacks, and some old LP's which I would like to restore digitaly on this platform discribed above, will it work right.
I would like to connect the computer and stereo for both recording and listening, but fear too much amprage or resistance load could damage the computer.

Without upgrading either the computer or stereo, what is the least expensive alternitive or external device could best join the two for compatability.

ALSO, are there upgrades or enhancement software for the DART 32 Recording Studio II at this web site?
Thank You.

Phono PreAmp...

Recoton makes an inexpensive phono preamp that costs around $30-$40 that will enable you to take LPs right from your turntable straight into your sound card input with having to have your entire stereo at the computer's side.

You need a good program such as SoundForge or Cool Edit Pro to record the LP input to WAV format. From there you can clean up the cracks and pops.

Re: Connect stereo to computer for listening and recording

If the hifi has a line level RCA output and the computer has a RCA or minijack running at line level, then they should interface fine. Most basic soundcards and on motherboard soundcards aren't going to give you a great signal chain but it should work.

Other than that, a compatible PCI audio card is recommended..

eBlitz mp3 memory cards

Hi, I just bought 3 eBlitz music makers, the ones with Magix Music Makers and eBlitz shuttel mp3 players and I'd like to get cards for them. The ones I have don't have memory cards. These were Xmas gifts for my sons Can you help me out? Jimmy

Re: eBlitz mp3 memory cards

I have an Eblitz player and could use some links for getting it to recognize the memory and also if anyone knows another compatible software program for uploading songs to the player.

Re: eBlitz mp3 memory cards

yea i got one for christmas and im not sure if u already got the help you need but, you can go to any tech store, like circut city or best buy. just go in and ask for multi media cards they will have an extensive supply and a good variety of sizes. they are a bit pricy for the bigger ones but the shuttle doesnt have much space on it to realy enjoy it.

Re: eBlitz mp3 memory cards

Take them back. They aren't worth the energy to mess with. IMHO. dennis

Re: eBlitz mp3 memory cards

Make sure you buy 32MB or less MMC cards. I spent a lot of time messing with these players and everyone I talked to has had no luck with 64mb mmc cards even though the manual claims to support them. For other useful E-BLitz info...patches, etc...E-Mail me...PCMD

Re: eBlitz mp3 memory cards

hi,

ich hab ne 64 er mmc. der player erkennt die katre aber nicht, sie kann nicht formatiert werden oder so ein problem tritt auf.

kannst du mir helfen?

I am wanting to purchase this used software. Can anyone help? The company is no longer in business and Gvox, which bought it out, no longer makes Rhapsody. I have it for Macintosh, but I want to use my PC so now need it in PC format.

Thank you. Diane

I have the same problem on XP. I have no solution. You may want to join the gvox yahoo group and ask there:

Diane, I have a windows version of Rhapsody but I can't get it to work on Windows 2000 (I bought it for Windows 95)

Re: Rhapsody by Passport Designs (for windows)

I have Rhapsody for windows. Only problem is that for certain features it crashes with my current windows version. It worked pretty good with Windows 98 though. SInce it is out of print, how do the copyright laws work for it?

Re: Rhapsody by Passport Designs (for windows)

My friend has done quite a number of work using Rhapsody which is no longer in business. Anyone has any idea of converting or importing those files into a different program.
Thank you

Encore is now being produced by Gvox: http://www.gvox.com/ (bought out Passport Music, which made Rhapsody and Encore). Encore will import Rhapsody files, as will Finale, which is made by Coda: www.codamusic.com . These are expensive programs. Coda makes several cheaper programs that will import Rhapsody files. Go to the website and download the demos to see how well they do at importing Rhapsody. I only was pleased with how Finale did and bought a copy on e-bay. Still looking for Rhapsody for Windows.

CDG copy to CDR/CDG

Hardware used: Sony CDRW CRX175A 2.0d in WinXP

After trying several different software packages the only one I had success with was ClonyXXL/CloneCD 4.0.1.3. In ClonyXXL click on 'manual settings' and choose 'data cd' and also select the button labeled 'many rings' then click OK. I checked ALL options on the CCD4 tab except 'read only 1st session', then I launched CloneCD and copied.

I tested the copy in my DVD player [Apex AD-1200] and as soon as I closed the door it said CDG in the corner of the screen, then the Commodores Brick House started playing - with lyrics on the screen!

Where can I obtain this software?

How do I create this effect?

I have no idea what it's called, or how to do it, but the best example is the voice that says "So Easy" in Royksopp's song So Easy. Can anyone help me out?

Re: How do I create this effect?

Sounds a little like a vocal track that has been 'time stretched' to a minimum speed and then had a load of delay put on it. A very fast delay and a slow delay with a load of feedback on the delay. Could be anything...
