Notation Program with Good Sound

My friend is about to buy a midi/notation program and would like to know of any which are not too expensive but have good sound - especially for guitar, flute, and bass. Any input would be really appreciated.

Ok folks OK. Bummer Bummer,8 Gigs of MP3 and no sound.
I actually think my problem came from the Media Player that is built into Netscape(Which I downloaded shortly before my sounds went down). So I deleted the media player and choose MMJB as my choice player...but to no avail............also I deleted that Nasty Kazaa shit with it's Cydoor from hell spyware.

The Solution tough is real simple.

Click On "Control Panel"...then "System".........Click on the "Hardware" tab and then "Device Manager", at which point you should see your Sound Card listed under the devices with a yellow circle and a exclamation mark inside it. When you click on it you shoulld have 2 or 3 options to reinsatll or laocate the driver for whichever soundcard you have(Including MS Database for Driver Downloads). Just click on all the options(Insert your Windows Disk in the CD-ROM) and click on search.

E Voila. Windows will tell you it has found a better driver than the one you already have. Click to accept...it will install itself....and there you have problem solved.

No ReBoot Necessary!!

I installed a new logitech mouse that gave me musicmatch juke box. Now I cannot play any of my own cd's!! How do I fix this problem?

Had same MMJB - PCI problem. Was hit by worm had to format C: drive so I lost all files. All was easy to reinstall except sound drive. Looked at several help sites - NO HELP. Go to Paco's web site. My pc is a Micron. What I start off as a search was Micron sound card. In sites that came up Paco's was in there. Excellent site. Site has downloads - was so easy. All you need in Paco's is your pc serial # and the site does the rest. After I typed in my sn# I printed out everything that is in my pc. So when site showed me sound card options, I knew exactly which on to pick 5.39 MB later I have sound again. Was a long battle. Good luck Roy

Got this problem with midi recording in Sonar XL 2.0:

2.8 GHz processor
512 Mb RAM
Win XP
Yamaha DSP Factory DS2416 Sound Card (WDM Drivers)

PROBLEM: recording AUDIO works fine, however MIDI is out of sync with the rest of the recording - during playback. Quantizing does not solve the problem.

Anybody......

Try download the updates (sonar 2.1 & sonar 2.2 - yes both) from the website (www.cakewalk.com).

multiple FM tuner cards

Hi,

I need to set up a server, streaming live radio broadcast to the internet. I'm trying to achieve this with placing multiple FM tuner cards inside the PC. This unfortunatelly ends in hardware collisions. So here I am, asking for any help? Hardware tips, solutions...anything!

latency, which soundcard??

I am looking for a mid-range soundcard ($100-$200) for use with a midi keyboard. my primary intrest is low latency (10ms-20ms)and a good sound. 5.1 doesn't really intrest me that much. Also, does anyone know of a good digital speaker system for around the $100 mark??

If you can come up with a program that can do this even half-perfectly, then you're gonna be a millionaire. There's nothing out there that can do the job as you require. You could always get some MIDI files and turn the drum track off using a sequencer. Then you could play along. It might be a bit sterile though.

CD player

I am kind of new to downloading from WinMX. I want to burn these songs onto a CD and play it in my car. But my car's CD player can't read MP3 files. Any suggestions?

You could always burn those songs as CDA files, which will mean your stereo should play the discs. The MP3s will be converted into another format. Try burning a standard audio CD using a program such as <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Nero_win32/">Nero</a>.
