Climax Blues

Where can I purchase a copy of sheet music for "I Love You" by Climax Blues?

MidiNotate + Visual Piano = ?

That's what I'm looking for... a program that reads MIDI files and not only displays the score (MIDINotate) for those of us who read music, but shows you the notes on a keyboard too (Visual Piano) for those of us who don't! Pleeease, somebody tell me where I can find a program that does both.

Thanks in advance for your consideration,

DJ

Re: MidiNotate + Visual Piano = ?

I was looking for the same thing...I sent many emails to Visual Piano company to upgrade the version of Visual Piano, they haven't made any changes...So, I am now using Magix Piano and Keyboard Workshop SE and 2nd Edition (It shows notes and you can see the keys). I like visual piano because you can play a set of notes over and over until you get it right. Magix is the same way. You see..Try it for your self. www.magix.com
look for Magix Piano and Keyboard Workshop 2.0 (the latest version).

Re: MidiNotate + Visual Piano = ?

Here's a solution, assuming that visual piano has the ability for midi input and if not then no worries because there is another keyboard program listed below. I love Midi-Notate and would not part with it in a hundred years for some other program. (Try playing back a very complex midi file on one of the other midi programs sometime, I have and most of them croaked or couldn't even open the file)

To solve this problem we will install a virtual MIDI port between Midinotate and a keybord display program.

1) Install Midi-Yoke (by Midi-OX) http://www.midiox.com/ This will make virtual external midi port so that midinotate can use to send out midi to another program. Think of it as a loop back for the midi-out of one program to the midi-in of another program. (Installation of midi-yoke is very easy if you also download the pictorial installation instructions)

2) Install Midinotate.

3) Install Visual Piano or some other keyboard program that has a midi input. I'm assuming that Visual Piano offers this, if not, the best one I have found is Bome's Midi Keyboard www.bome.com/midi/keyboard/ This is one of the best keyboards I've come across and you can change how the keys look.

4) Start Midinotate and go to Setup-->Midi Device Config... You should see Midi Yoke NT 1-8 and Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth (or you midi card) Hopefully it will say "In Out External Device MIDI KEYboard" on the line below "MIDIYoke NT: 1" IF not, click on the line 'MIDI Yoke NT: 1' and then Port-->Connect to External Device. Make sure that MIDI Yoke 1 is listed as the MIDI POrt and MIDI Keyboard is listed as the External Device, Click connect.

If you still don't see 'MIDI Keyboard' on the line directly below MIDI Yoke NT:1 then right click on MIDI Yoke NT 1 and change the assignment to internal at which point a new line will be added below MIDI Yoke NT 1 that should say 'MIDI Yoke NT: 1 Device'

5) Now start your keyboard program such as Bome's Music Keyboard or Visual Piano (assuming Visual Piano allows for MIDI input) and Configure the Midi In to be Yoke 1. For the Bome's Music Keyboard, select the Midi-In pull down tab and select MIDI Yoke NT:1. For the Midi output, select you midi card , in my case this would be 'Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth

6) The last step is important or you will not hear any sound. Goto Options in the Bome's Music Keyboard and select Midi-Thru. This will allow the music played from Midinotate to your keyboard program to pass through to the MIDI output of your keyboard which in this case is the sound card (Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth)

7) Now lets test the whole connection, click back to the Midinotate software. Double-Click on the line below MIDI Yoke NT:1 and press the Test button. You should see your keys moving and hear the music playing.

8) Load up your favorite MIDI file with Midinotate and press play. If it doesn't work right away, don't fret, click on the little button for track setup (located next to the music score, it looks like a little circle with some tick marks inside) Pull down the menu for 'Device' and try either 'MIDI Keyboard' or 'Midi Yoke NT Device 1', depending on which you had available in the midi setup process.

Good Luck!

There are a few resources for you to check out. Visit www.mpc-tutor.com and www.mpc2000.com and http://www.mpc3k.com for some serious info and forums.

: You'll also need some samples if you haven't already begun to dig in the crates. There are lots of resources available for that. I've got 100 MB MPC drum programs available on zip disk. Contact me at homershines@yahoo.com for a demo sample in WAV format and for some general info.

Getting Started

Hi

I have been DJ'ing for about 2 years or so, but me and my mates were hoping to get more into the recording side and make our own dance/trance tunes, none of us know what we would need to get started or where to buy/download software from. Can anyone point me in the right direction of what software/equipment i could get started on?

Thanks a lot
Matt

Re: small and simple dsp projects for beginners

Do u have any kind of target board and IDE for DSP.
If you have you can start working on the Example codes and then later u can directly start doing a FFT project which is completly depended on codeing and Mathematics. If you need any more details plz feel free to contact me.
Have a good day.
