It should do what you want. There are also other programs in the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/MULTITRACK_RECORDING/">multitrack recording</a> section of the site which can be used for trial periods and so forth. Some of them are inexpensive and very good. n-Track is one worth looking at.

You'd probably want video editing software, a DVD burner and a video capture card. Oh yeah, don't forget the camera.

It won't do that.

You need midi.
Then, with the right software you can see the notes.

Is it when you move the mouse, or your computer video is doing something? I had this problem on a new computer under XP: getting the right driver for the sound card sorted it, the shop had installed the wrong one.

The rock bottom spec PC has nothing to do with it IF it is capable of recording one track of audio at a decent bit rate.

The biggest deal is the whole signal chain from the Accordian to the HD. This not only means you have to get a decent mic into a decent preamp into a decent audio card, but you have to record the thing properly in the first place which requires some knowledge of selecting the right mic and recording the instrument in the most condusive room for that instrument.

I would consider using a dynamic mic of some quality, in an Accordian although I might end up with a large diaphragm condensor mic.

On a budget, I would check out the Studio Projects B1 into an M-Audio Audiobuddy or preferably a Studio Projects VTB-1. I would then run that into a decent audio card (starting around the M-Audio audiophile 24/96 (24bit).

Pack an area of a room out with mattresses and cushions etc. Sit the player in there. Get some headphones on, turn them up and then move the mic around the accordian whilst it's being played.
